Time to give Pennant another chance?

I am not sure what people have against Pennant. I know he is a bit lazy, and is Cashleys bum-boy....

But he is the only player we have who will go down the wings, and take a player on the outside. He only really lacks a bit of pace.

Rafa seems a bit intent on playing people out of position on the wings (like Houllier). As a result we are awful in the midfield at the moment. Its crying out for someone to run at their man on the outside.

It wont happen down the left, as everyone Rafa plays there is right footed, and likes to play central anyway.

And down the right, Rafa cant see past Kuyts big fat arse. yeah he works hard and is great against good teams, but when we play weaker sides and have a lot of possesion, he gets ffound out as he is poor with the ball at his feet.

Which brings me back to Pennant, who can dribble and cross...

Perhaps it would help if the fullbacks helped out a bit.

Does Rafa even have any tactics once we pass the halfway line? Because the players all look completely clueless once they have the ball.

Lets see some nice little triangles, and some movement would be nice.

I'm sorry thats just plain old tripe, usual Pennant bashing, he can beat a man for pace, can deliver a ball into the box and has put in a number of very important performances for us. Obviously he is not making the team right now, but I would not mind seeing him on the team sheet again, bags of talent

I agree,, He is the best "winger" we have at the moment, As i said before, I cant understand for the life if me why he gets such a bashing on here, He is still a liverpool player, It seems it just takes a couple of people to start slating him and then a load more jump on the band wagon, would do a much better job than Kuyt on the right, But as we all know he seems to have the untouchable status. Yes i know he scored the goal that got us through, "Only after droping into his more natural position" but im sure we would have created a lot more chances to score if pennant was playing.

He isn't perfect but the games he has played for us last season at the end, the CL final etc prove he can be an asset. Rafa is freezing him out as he wants him sold to raise money and Jermaine isn't playing ball and holding out. Good luck to the lad whatever happens, but he isn't quite good enough. However, he is still the best winger we have at the club and I'd say on a par with Riera.

and i agree bout kuyt being untouchable
seems people just want JP in for something different - once he is in unless he has been re built and replaced in body and mind - we will then just confirm how bad he is

We ask for an out and out winger , someone who gets chalk on their boots, someone who can get the ball into the box and you ask what his goal record is like

It's obvious you don't rate the bloke and will probably never give him a fair go so just avoid the subject and do the rest of us a favour
