good attempt at deflection, but you just highlighted another example of very poor people management.

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

Rafa won us number 5. He is easily defendable without going to any lengths. So why suggest we have to go to lengths to defend him? His record is there and he will live or die by it.Originally posted by Sarb24 View PostMy, the lengths people go to, to defend the indefensible
You seem surprised that anyone would defend Rafa.
Like you know better or something. Well perhaps you are a blert and in reality your opinion might be bull****.
Just a thought.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

... on the other hand - there were a certain penalty in last seasons CL in the semifinal, where Sami just came in a little slow against Drogba - and BANG - we were out. Very similar value to the Riise-owngoal - and defo. due to his lack of speed.
Yes he has server LFC so good and been one of the very best, but that doesnt give him rigths for special treatment. This doesn't mean it would have been wrong if Rafa had told him, but it was up to Rafa, not Sami, to decide.- - - - -

From what we've heard about our tactics this season a wing back is central. More so than a 4th CH. So I can see the sense in choosing Degen over Hyypia. I just hope Degen does his part and doesn't prove Rafa a fool.Originally posted by Sarb24 View PostWe should have put Sami in instead of DegenThe Crushing Machine MKII

Maybe you're too hung up on defending Rafa and not realising how shockingly a good servant to the club has been treated.
Yeah he won us number 5. I'm not surprised that anyone would defend Rafa. I'm surprised at the lengths that people go to to defend the poor man management in this case.
Some people will never see any wrong in his actions regardless of what he does.
Maybe you're a blert and in reality your opinion is blinkered by the love you have for the man who won us number 5 and is bull****

Look mate. How is it special treatment.? One day he was told he was important to the team. When was he told he was important??...one day he was quoting that he'd be happy to be picked when needed...that's a back up player in my mind...****s sake, you don't half spout some ****.Originally posted by Sarb24 View PostLook mate. No, i've never said that Hyypia and Riise are comparable as players, cos Hyypia was an outstanding centre back, and Riise a good, solid leftback...but why does that mean that Hyypia is entitled to more respect from Rafa, cos when it boils down to it, they are/were both players for the club, and deserving of the same treatment? Explain that to me? Or, if oy ulike, go off on a tangent and talk about something complete different.Originally posted by Sarb24 View PostCant believe you're comparing Hyypia who has consistently performed well with Riise whose been anything but consistent in his time here. Yeah Riise didnt know whether he was staying or not. Hyypia.....well a bid was rejected because apparently he was an important player. The next day he is told he aint in the Champions League squad.
I cant se him playing much in the Prem, so you have no problem with that sequence of events? My, the lengths people go to, to defend the indefensible

What am i deflecting? Do tell. The fact that poor Sami has become fourth choice centre back, or that Rafa's management skills are the same no matter who the player?
Deflection my arse, more comparison than deflection...two situations, two similar outcomes, yet one is used to beat Rafa with, the other is used to beat the player with. Double standards.

No, if you go back through the thread, you'll see the quote...you won't have to go far, only back one page...words from Hyypia, stating he was happy to play when needed.Originally posted by Sarb24 View PostYou're in denial mate. Carry on
Poor man management again
Someones in denial, but it ain't me. **** me, you really are a clueless halfwit when it comes to the skill of debating. You should try it some time tho, it involves coming up with counter-points, and arguments based on fact. It's quite simple if you try.

'They didn't want me to move elsewhere, so I was told just after the transfer window.'
Counter point there for you. Great way to act by our club. And by the way Riise has gone and Hyypia is still here after missing out on a transfer that would have given him more play time (the least he deserved after good years of service). There's a difference in the situation.
If Riise was still here and not playing and not getting answers from Rafa about whether he still figured in his plans I'm sure a lot of people would be saying the same thing. But he's not. He got a transfer because he didn't figure in the boss' plans
I await your sarcastic reply

Yup, we don't want him to go anywhere, cos i'm sure he'll play his fair share of games in league and cup...point out to me where he said "Sami lad, you'll be playing CL football this season"...Originally posted by Sarb24 View PostHyypia said: ‘The decision to leave me out of the squad is a big disappointment. And at the time Riise was still here, and was in the press complaining that Rafa didn't talk to him, didn't tell him what his future was...seems like it's Rafa's way of working....but the point was, people on this site...you being one of them...were slating Riise, telling him to stay quiet etc.
Sarcastic enough for you?
