Thats not good, he deserves better treatment. He seems to be in the dark as to what his role will be too.Originally posted by JPK View Post"But the club had a 'perfect' timing for this: they didn't want me to move elsewhere, so that's why I was told the news of having been left out, just after the transfer window had closed.
"The club went public to say there had been offers for me, but turned them down. So perhaps that means I am still part of the plans for this season.
"I don't know if I would have wanted to move on, had I heard the news about the squad when the window was still open."
"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."
I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

Who would you have left out instead of Sami?Originally posted by elvoz View Postthat is bad man management and a lack of respect for sami
imo it cant be defended but i expect to get ****ed for saying so
i am baffled by how rafa can do things like this - and not think it important to tella very loyal player who many see as having a future at lfc in a coaching role

This squad was only named for the team playing in the group stages. If someone gets an injury he can be brought back into the squad if we get past the group stages. Then he`ll go back to the Finnish press and tell them he`s glad to be rested and ready to do a job for the best club in the world.Originally posted by elvoz View Posthe wont be playing european footy for us

I think that the main issue here is that Hyypia is completely in the dark on the subject and he's not exactly known as a moaner is he?Originally posted by Johnny View PostThis squad was only named for the team playing in the group stages. If someone gets an injury he can be brought back into the squad if we get past the group stages. Then he`ll go back to the Finnish press and tell them he`s glad to be rested and ready to do a job for the best club in the world.

It is not necessarily because anyone else would be more obvious to leave out, it is the way he gets left out that is poor judgement. I am quite sure sami would have stayed even if he was told before the transfer window was shut, that he was due to be left out. It is only fair for any manager (football or not) to tell what is going on, and what your situation is.Originally posted by Johnny View PostWho would you have left out instead of Sami?
But more than anything, I just think it is a sign of a massive dissapointment that he will not participate, and he will bounce back well, he is one of the most prof footballers I have seen. But perhaps it would have been easier for him if he was told in the run up to the selection...

I imagine it isn't about that but that being eligible for more games means more opportunities to play at LFC. As it is the number of games he might play in and achieve anything is much reduced. If he had moved he would probably have been first choice and that would have meant more games and could potentially achieve something in what might be his final season (even if that is only the avoidance of relegation for the likes of Stoke).Originally posted by Scratch View PostInteresting that he says that if he'd been told sooner that the offers from other clubs would have interested him....did any of these other clubs (i can only think of Stoke) offer European football as well??
I can see it from both sides although I do think that the in-fighting at a higher level and the transfer sagas of the summer have had a knock on (negative) impact in the way we have dealt with players already at the club. In many ways it echoes what happened last season when we had a dip of form soon after a good start and many people questioned the morale in the squad."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

disgraceful behavior by the management - of course i lay responsibility on rafa but i'm sure sackparry can blame parry and everyone else just shrug their shoulders and say its just the way it is. he really should have been told before and its clear from what he's said that he feels let down.Originally posted by Nicey View PostHe is the Ex captain of the team, a loyal servant, has won everything under the sun bar the Prem, he deserved better truth be told, and if anybody needed to be a man about it, it was the management ...
