i am baffled by how rafa can do things like this - and not think it important to tella very loyal player who many see as having a future at lfc in a coaching role

This squad was only named for the team playing in the group stages.If someone gets an injury he can be brought back into the squad if we get past the group stages.Then he`ll go back to the Finnish press and tell them he`s glad to be rested and ready to do a job for the best club in the world.

I think that the main issue here is that Hyypia is completely in the dark on the subject and he's not exactly known as a moaner is he?

It is not necessarily because anyone else would be more obvious to leave out, it is the way he gets left out that is poor judgement. I am quite sure sami would have stayed even if he was told before the transfer window was shut, that he was due to be left out. It is only fair for any manager (football or not) to tell what is going on, and what your situation is.

But more than anything, I just think it is a sign of a massive dissapointment that he will not participate, and he will bounce back well, he is one of the most prof footballers I have seen. But perhaps it would have been easier for him if he was told in the run up to the selection...

I imagine it isn't about that but that being eligible for more games means more opportunities to play at LFC. As it is the number of games he might play in and achieve anything is much reduced. If he had moved he would probably have been first choice and that would have meant more games and could potentially achieve something in what might be his final season (even if that is only the avoidance of relegation for the likes of Stoke).

I can see it from both sides although I do think that the in-fighting at a higher level and the transfer sagas of the summer have had a knock on (negative) impact in the way we have dealt with players already at the club. In many ways it echoes what happened last season when we had a dip of form soon after a good start and many people questioned the morale in the squad.

disgraceful behavior by the management - of course i lay responsibility on rafa but i'm sure sackparry can blame parry and everyone else just shrug their shoulders and say its just the way it is. he really should have been told before and its clear from what he's said that he feels let down.
