That's kind of insinuating that Rafa is a bit of a gold digger. I doubt very much Rafa came to the club in the first place because of money.
          Dare we believe

Its hardly like he hasnt been close to winning the Champs league again and making another final last year. He has spent 200 million but then he has made a lot of that back around 100 million or so. With that 100 million he has bought class like Torres, Mascher, Reina, Agger, Alonso, Skrtel, Babel and Keane (I know the last 2 havent really shown there true worth but I am near sure they will)
On top of that he has brought the club in that 100 million being the best club in Europe since he joined. Your post makes it sound like he has wasted 200 millions of the clubs money, while in reality he has moved players about and pretty much covered there costs with sales. The 100 million he has spent (which he made the club) has been has been spent very very well.

Sarb mate i have whinged and whined about Rafa plenty this season my old mucker, however usually after I have typed my point of view across I move on to something else, and discuss that, you however seem to think a discussion is to simply to rehash the same point in different threads and that pisses me off. At the end of the day Rafa is still our manager and like it or not he has dragged us kicking and screaming into a position of success once more.

I dont understand supporters who consistently slate their team/manager/players....how is that support? Like i have said, its fine to criticize but by repeating something over and over doesnt make it any more correct you chimp.

                    Tit......

Kuyt has been a good player for us and has scored some vital goals for us. A good signing.
Benayoun has been a very good squad/ impact player. Wigan away last season sprongs to mind.
Lucas still nees more time, but does look a good player.
Voronin gets more stick that he deserves, but is ****.
Morientes, well, who knew it'd turn out like that?!
The point is, when the best available isnt that good, you're better off keeping your money until someone good IS available, surely.

Kuyt's not been a £10m player unfortunately. You dont move a striker to play on the wing if he's been successful up front.

Benayoun's been ok, but again the money could've been spend better, combined with the Pennant money. Same goes for Lucas.

Yes i agree. But instead of £6m for Yossi and £7m for Pennant and £6m for Lucas and £10m for Kuyt, he would've had £29m and could've spent 'top dollar' with that - and done well with it.

It's plain for everyone to see that when it comes to the £5m-£10m bracket, we've not had much success. Arguably you could say that you dont always get top quality for that kind of money which leads me to wonder why we dont just save the few lots of £6m and buy one top quality £15m-£20m player with it.

Anyway, if Kuyts good enough for his national side, then that's more than good enough for me!
Problem with that argument mate, is that his national side never win anything and they're playing a completely different game to us. International football and club football are worlds apart.

To be fair harvey, the same 'excuses', and defence of what some see as consistent mistakes, over and over again, is also tiresome.
