I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

"When we have a bad day we usually still get something from the game. Overall, they were the better team. Liverpool produced a performance of tackling, hassling and getting about us. The source of our defeat was not coping with the hassling and the tackling.

I disagree, to win a game you need to touch the ball and they hardly did in the 2nd.

            Great result....and about time.

Mascherano and Alonso dominated midfield and Kuyt had an excellent game. Riera provided that little bit of creativity that has been missing in recent games. We played with belief and confidence, for which Rafa deserves credit.

I was incredibly pessimistic about today’s game and feared a hammering. But we’ve proved that we have a squad of players to beat the best.
            Another MASSIVE game

****ing excellent result. After 3 mins i thought we were going to get a battering. We worked really hard as a team and were well worth the win in the end. Reira looked very good, a clever player who always showed for the ball, Benni looked a different player on the right, Kuyt and Keane worked their nuts off to stop utd building from the back. I think once Carrick got injured we completly dominated the midfield and we stoped them creating anything.

So we beat UTD without Torres (and for the most part Gerrard), played good football, worked hard had a good balance in the side. Long may it continue

The top four has a familiar look to it ...Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and the big Manchester club.

My mate just emailed me this:

Scientist's at the LHC today announced the appearance of a new particle, known as the Berbatron, it apparently acts with great energy upon it's initial appearance, but disappears without trace after approximately 3 minutes.

In an exciting week for particle physics, experts are already comparing the discovery with the re-discovery of the "Roonatron" on Wednesday night in Zagreb. This particle was initially discovered many years ago, but after early promising results scientists lost the elusive particle for a number of years. The shock of it's re-emergence on Wednesday was matched only by the shock this Saturday afternoon when the particle vanished again. Scientist Fok Man Yoo from the Chinese Reactor for Advanced Particle Physics (CRAPP) explains, "It seems that the one surviving example of this amazingly inconsistent particle has been swept into a black hole known as 'Carrasbakpoket' where it is interacting with another particle that we are calling the Tevezetic Quasimodotron. Together the particles expend huge amounts of energy but produce curiously little effect."

The experiment continues. In other news police on Merseyside are investigating a massive burglary at a whiskey refinery near the Anfield area, which occurred at around 3pm today.

The game changed really when Riera started to get into the game. It meant Brown had to play deeper, and immediately United lost their width on the right hand side. (Evra was struggling to get control of the other side, so they never had width on that side.) That meant they became a tem playing with only three in midfield, and they were simply outnumbered (and I agree out fought) in that area of the pitch.

Riera then faded, but so did Brown as an attacking force (except in his own area!!).

I also thought there was some really good movement upfront today. Keane seemed to find it easier playing with Kuyt than with Torres, and suddenly we had two central strikers that had to be marked plus Yossi moving all over the place.

I didn't think we needed full backs this summer, I was saying all summer than that Arbeloa and Finnan, and Aurelio and Insua can cover for us this year. I said we should buy two wingers and just leave it at that. You saw today what a decent winger can bring to the team, you saw today that when the team is positive how good the full backs can look - just imagine if we had a proper winger on the right too?

We won today because we had options out wide and the full backs attacked whenever they could - it was superb.
