I'd say the one that went in from Gerrard was better but then again I don't look intently at all things LFC to find any negative I can.
no you're right, gerrard's goal was fine but even though it was disallowed we still had 85 mins left, shouldn't have made a difference against Stoke.

the game i watched we didn't carve out one real opportunity, i understand that they defended with 10 men most of the game but at least 8 other teams will do exactly the same at anfield.

the only saving grace as far as i'm concerned is that the other 3 teams are also struggling for form.

Furry muff, I'll try and wind you up again later.

Seriously though all the other top teams will have days like that and as long as they're few and far between for us and we do well against the rest of the top 4 we'll be fine.

Yup if you look at last season if we had of got Uniteds results against the top 4 and they had of had our results. Then we would have won the league and United would have came fourth.
I really cant understand people going on about us not having enough quality against lesser sides since we got round about the same points as United did against them.
We really need to get our act together against the top 4 sides, last year 4 out of 18 points was never going to let us challenge for the league.

The game i watched, Robbie Keane had 1 definite clear cut chance, arguably 2 and Torres should have hit the target with his headed effort.

I'm sorry but Keano shoulda put the game beyond doubt. All from good attacking, creative moves might I add. Benny, to coulda done better when he jinked his way into the box (trying to walk it in) but failed to get his shot off.

I'm not here to discuss the pro's & con's of Rafa and his tactics but I think Saturday was just one of them days......no matter what we did, including scoring a good goal, it wasn't meant to be. I'm pretty sure the boys will be just as gutted as the rest of us and I'm pretty confident that a simlar performace from the lads Saturday should see us comfortably past the blue ****e.

For every Birmingham we had last year United messed up as well. As said before if we had of beat them twice we would have finished above them, also add in they got more points from Chelsea and Arsenal than we did then we had less slip up against the lesser teams.
Really some people spend to much time listening to numb nuts on the TV and beleiving every word they say.
That may be, but since I Rarely ever listen to tv-pundits, that wouldn't include me

I know the stats from last season, and I know how many goals we scored. That's besides the point IMO. We have a tendency to grind teams down, and have a lot of shots on goal, which leads to goals at some point. Combine that with a very effective defence and midfield, that leads to a lot of points totally.
But we rarely carve teams open with our creative attacking play. It happens, but rarely. I know it may sound as a lightweight argument, but take a look at how Arsenal play. They quite often combine through defences, in a way that Liverpool used to do in the 70's and 80's. If we had a bit more flair in front of a packed penalty area, we would be awesome. In midfield and defence I think we are the best in the premier league.
