Don't like Whelan at all, come to think of it Houghton and sometimes Souness are as bad on RTE. Rafa bashing and generally putting down LFC is common place by all these so called sports analysts on TV these days.
      Dare we believe

        Dodgy link, can't watch it.

However, I like Ronnie Whelan. The man did his talking on the pitch in his many years of great service winning titles and cups galore for Liverpool FC.
He can say what he wants about todays players, he's earned that right by virtue of the medals he's won.

Only time I'll turn against such a legend if they do something to bring the club' name into direpute, which Whelan hasn't. He's given his opinion on today's players and as a multi-title winning legend, that is his right. I'm sure Rafa couldn't give a toss anyway, he's heard it all before and there's only one way to stop them, on the pitch.

            110% agree

Ronnie Whelan is a Liverpool legend, one of my favourite ever players and a class class act on the pitch. To call him a c*nt for having an opinion, negative though it might be, is extremely ott in my opinion.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
            Mine angry and defrauded young?

Almost every day there is a new thread slagging off an ex-liverpool player/pundit because they dare to say something negative about us.

Everybody has their own opinions, whether we like it or not.

                  I can't view the clip.

It's harsh ripping into Whelan like that but it's got to be said, judged in isolation as a pundit, the guy comes across as an ill-informed knobhead.

He was a great player for us and I loved him but he seems hell-bent on being negative about us, a la McMahon and Houghton. What is their problem?
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I don't hear Houghton on RTE or whatever, but whenever he speaks of us on TalkSport I find him very fair and unbiased.

Pundits (especially controversial ones) are there to create debate and hitch up the levels. Some of them are hired specifically for that. It's a conspiracy mate.

It's certainly boring hearing only one side of the coin and ex players only praising us also. These guys have got to have their own piece of mind IMO.

Unless they lay into players and managers and diffuse false stories about them, I don't give a **** about what they think. And there's still the mute button.

Watching the analysis and apparently we need Deco. We have no player who can hold up the ball, torres apparently constantly loses it.

Also saying that Lucas, Arbeloa and Dossena are rubbish, and that Mascher is a donkey who shouldn't play when Alonso should due to flair.

                        This is some great punditry.

Oh, and Rafa can't spot footballers...................

Reira to be turned into Dirk Kuyt.

That's a fairer look at it I'd say.

I think Johnny's rant might have been influenced by the odd pint or two looking at the posts.

I've turned of the analysis half way through. Apparently us knowledgeable liverpool fans know that we have been lucky this season, and that we know we don't have the squad to win the league.
