****ing hell and we think we have it bad with Gray and Redknapp.

      This is some great punditry.

lol @ "Mascher is a donkey"

          That wasn't Whelan though.

He is quite negative about us, and especially Benitez ability to pick a player, but I read as much as he says from some lfc fans on forums all the time.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue

What tale shall serve me here among
          Mine angry and defrauded young?

We should have Aldo covering our matches on all networks.

Saying that, I think some tv station should get Roy Hodgson as one of their pundits. He talks sense.

Whelan was a legend as a player, as a kid growing up he was my favourite player after the king retired. I believe he is the most under-rated player we have ever had and hence me using him as my ID.

He is of course entitled to his opinion but what I can't stand from him or any other pundits is some of the ill informed opinion they spout and I wish there was someone on the RTE panel who would challenge him. He has said on numerous times that Benitez can't spot a player which is obviously rubbish.

Dunphy is there to be controversial and you can dismiss his crap, last night he reckoned Skrytl was a dodgy centre half and we didn't have a pairing like Chelsea's or Utd!

What also anoyed me about last nights commentary and analysis on RTE was that they didn't comment whatsoever on Kuyt's contribution to Keane's goal which was a massive part of it.

bit of topic but made me laugh last night

after the game, they went to the sky studio were Richard Keys said something along the lines of

"And with us tonight we have Graeme Souness, 3 time European cup winner, Roy Hodgson twice manager of Inter Milan and............David Platt"

it was class the way he built it up and then knocked it down.

Souness made me laugh - he just looked like he wanted to fight, roy hodgson was class though, very interesting to listen to - not just about us, but his analysis about all the games was interesting - similar to Bobby Robson, who as I have said before is probably one of the only people in football that when he talks everyone listens.

But I ****ing love Aldo, he was my hero as a kid and if i am watching the match at home I will put radio city/aldo's commentary over the tv's
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I think some people get confused and think that all football players are fans of clubs.

Most of them are but a lot aren't. They've no idea what it means to be a fan of a club. I think this is the case with Houghton and probably Whelan. They aren't in the same mould as Thommo, Aldo, Carra, Fowler etc.
This doesn't make them ill-informed ******s, I think it's difficult to be one of the greats of the game and be ill-informed about it at the same time.
I loved Houghton, he left 100% on the field for us and I also loved Whelan as a player too. Two legedary players who obviously do know about the game. I don't agree with their opinions, but I still have a hell of a lot of repect for them for the way they conucted themselves on and off the pitch whilst they were Liverpool legends.

He can say what he wants about todays players, he's earned that right by virtue of the medals he's won.
that is of course bull****. he should have to justify his opinions like anyone else should

Who does he have to justify his opinion to?

To a bunch of internet warriors? Or a bunch of armchair football fans who've never played the game profesionally.

If I didn't know better I'd say you were on a wind up

Whether or not YOU think that 'anyone should have to justify an opinion', we are a bit more liberal in this country and we believe that people have the right to form whatever opinion they wish and our freedom of speech is very important to us.
