"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

I'm amazed this thread has reached this stage without being locked/modded at any stage.

I'd like to know what happens when TWO ex-pros argue about the "nuances" of the game?

October 2008 this thread was started. A few months after our 2nd CL final in 2 years and 3 months into one of our best league campaigns in recent memory, yet I can just imagine the **** still being talked about Rafa.

Look at the reaction to him keeping Newcastle in the PL compared to what he achieved with us back then and it’s chalk and cheese. It’s f*cking bizarre. Was it Ferguson’s influence at the time?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

At the minute we seem to be suffering from a similar problem in terms of TV pundits lack of knowledge. It is particularly clear when the likes of Hodgson, who is obviously a thoughtful and intelligent thinker about the game, offer their opinions.
Out of all of the gems in this thread (and there are many), this stands out the most.
