see you would think blackburn away would be tricky but they were dire against the mancs! - knowing our luck they will have iimproved for us haha but unless its 100% improvement we should beat them

Portsmouth home could be tricky, but again if we want to be in the mix we should beat them at home

if we got through those games with a minimum of say 7 wins 2 draws and a loss - 23 points, minimum!! then we will be well in the mix

      we would be

      p----w---d-----l------pts
      17--12---4-----1------40

if you repeat that again in the second half the season, 80pts with 4 other games to play! - big big big ask like, we are going to need a lot of hard work, determination and luck!

A lot will depend on what we get from Chelsea away and Arsenal away in December.

We'll still have to go to Man Utd in the 2nd half of the season, but we'll have Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton at home. If we can somehow take 3 points from either Chelsea or Man Utd away, and do the business at home, we'll be very close to winning the title (assuming we beat most of the lesser sides).

Even 2 points from those two away games would be alright.

Beating Man Utd and winning at places like Everton, Sunderland and City will stand us in good stead hopefully.

          Chelsea A
          Portsmouth H
          Tottenham A
          West Brom H

          Fulham H
          West Ham H
          Blackburn A
          Hull H

We then go to Arsenal away on 21st Dec and will probably have Skrtel back. If we're out of the race by then, we only have ourselves to blame.
I think we'll take 18-20 points from the above games. If we take 24+ points and beat Chelsea (away) we'll probably go on to win the league.
          Another MASSIVE game

Rumour has it that Rafa was thinking about getting Bruno Cheyrou on loan just for the Chelsea match....

But the deal fell through at the last minute as he (Cheyrou) still wanted to be

People seem to forget where we struggle, at home against an inferior side parking the bus in their half. Every game is winnable but that doesn't mean we're going to win all of them. We will need to hit top form to do that and start breaking teams down and destroying them at Anfield.

in games where the opposition at least try to attack now and again we have as good a chance as anyone. its when they come defending ala city last year or stoke this year.

i do think that better set pieces and the width of riera will help counter the park a bus approach.

we've always had workrate, its now time for a bit of guile and killer instinct. how many times in previous years have we wasted chance after chance only to drop points through the one attack of the opposition? this happened at stoke this year for instance. also until very recently our corners have got to have been the worst in the league.

A win tonight will really put the cat among the pigeons, particularly if any of the other 3 teams drop points. Arsenal and Chelsea have tough tests.

looking at hull's fixtures until we meet, i don't think they will be near the top of the league at that point:

                            Hull v Chelsea
                            Man Utd v Hull
                            Hull v Bolton
                            Hull v Man City
                            Portsmouth v Hull
                            Stoke v Hull
                            Hull v Middlesbrough
                            Liverpool v Hull
                            Jürgen Klopp

They DO have two easy games at first, but maybe the likes of Bolton and Stoke will be too hard to handle, I think you may be right

aye - great start by hull and good luck to them, they dersever to stay up on their start alone, but once the buble bursts they might easily go on a run of 5 defeats.
