Bloody hell, its amazing this argument is still going on about Gerrard and Lampard. I personally hope Gerrard retires from Int duty but it's obviously not going to happen so they should bench Lampard and start Gerrard.

        Make Steve Captain of England

i think this debate will eventually finish because lampard will be 31 next season and its tough to put in that kind of mileage at that age.

I also agree with one of the posters who said that sven and mclaren ****ed it up for them as its at that time that i started not to care about england.

I didnt want a foreign coach in charge and thought they should have gone for venables as sole manager as opposed to the tea lady that he was for mclaren.

Hats off to ferdinand today for coming out with what he did. The wag thing got out of hand and completely ****ed up the tournament for me and its about time someone came out in the media and said what we all thought.

He played well - he along with Heskey were probably the best players on the pitch. But obviously Rooney got all the headlines as he scored 2 goals.

didnt see the game - is capello's playing style decent?? do england look a better team under him??
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Without doubt they look better. They are still a bit patchy though, especially in the first half. They seem to keep coming out stronger in the second half, and they at times do play some good football. As all the players keep re-iterating though there is still plenty to be improved on.

what amazes me is how consistantly they under perform as a team. some of the best players in the world throughout the team. maybe what was missing was a world class manager ??

                            So he wasn't dropped then.
                            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Not yet . Apparently Capello is furious with his skillful attacking style and that fact that he can pop it in the back of the net from 30 yards. He is single handedly making us bareable to watch and Capello simply cannot stand for this. It's only right he be banished from International football
