But we are a better team than one that plays long balls. Early in the season we were passing it round well and using Reira a lot. Only recently we've lost our way and started hoofing it long at times. Don't think we need a big target man. Think we need to play to our strengths and play football on the deck

A target man does not necessarily mean we'll be reverting to long balls. Having a strong striker who's good with his back to the goal can help you cut through deep defences with quick short passes by using him as an outlet to shield the ball in tight spaces. It's the basis to carving a back line with a combination of quick passing.

Ok , so Rafa bought Keane because in the year 2007 he was the most prolific striker in the league. A premier league proven goalscorer , I think Rafa made a good choice that didnt work out. Therefore for us to win the league this year (A real possibility) we are going to have to bite the bullet and invest in a striker.

Haha. When your winning championships year after year, it's pretty easy to worship all of the players. When you're not, you are looking at how you can improve. This is where criticism comes in to play.

Fair enough but there is constructive criticisim which I dont think most people mind, then there is the mad ranting calling players names and going totally overboard.

True. Mad ranting is an outlet for some people's frustrations I suppose. This kind of forum is perfect for that as it doesn't materially effect anyone. If someone vents their spleen on here rather than get stroppy with their family than I guess that's a good thing.

Mate I agree with that and I love chating with people like Rage, I might never agree with him and think he goes overboard all the time.
Still doesnt take away from the fact I wish he would take a second and look at the bigger picture. I am sure he would have said at the start of the season if we were top in December he would have loved it.
I am probably to much of I LOVE RAFA, but would be a boring forum if everyone agreed. As long as no one goes down the Rashid road of ruining every thread then I am happy enough.

i reckon we just need to play a settled team and get behind the players we have....

although rafa has curbed his rotating of personnel, i think he still rotates the players job-functions in the team...... i would like to see all our players play in only one position each week
