An open letter to Robbie keane

As Robbie Keane returns to Tottenham after just six months and 7 goals in 27 appearances, many Liverpool fans are left bemused by the events which have seen the Republic of Ireland captain return to White Hart Lane so dramatically.

    “DEAR Mr. Keane,

On behalf of Liverpool Football Club, I apologise for the way you’ve been treated. When you not only signed for the club you supported as a boy, but were given the hallowed number 7 jersey in the process, it must have been a dream come true - but the way that dream descended into six months of nightmare was unfair and completely uncalled for.

To never being given a chance to find form was unfair. To be dropped and benched time and time again while having the burden of an unjustified price tag was also unfair. To be a part of a squad that no matter how you performed, how hard you trained, or how much heart you gave to the club was never going to matter.

You have remained professional throughout and showed signs of ‘making the grade’ with the goal at Arsenal and two more against Bolton, alas you we’re dropped for the next match and saw only 75 minutes of league action since.

I, and many others, wish you well on your return to Spurs - and can understand that your feelings towards the club you’ve always loved may have changed. Many of us have supported you, and wanted to see you get a fair chance, but it was never on the cards. Alas, you were just one of the toys thrown out of the pram during our manager’s month of madness, where he thought nothing of treating a consummate professional as a pawn in a political game just so he could prove his point and get his way.

See you at Anfield on the 24th of May.

    You deserved better,
    A Liverpool Fan“

Might be a silly question but will Keane actually recieve that letter?

        Dear Robbie Keane,

We are sorry that we were unable to deliver this letter but everytime we contacted you you were either offside or not celebrating a goal. We also tried to give you this letter after 90 minutes but at the time you were unapproachable.

There is also a delivery cost on your original letter to the value of £8m or there abouts.

Wish you all the succes at delivering at your level.

It's sad to see Robbie go but when it counted, he did not deliver the goods. We wish him well as long as it's not against us.

Can you add on, if he really still love liverpool and us, please get himself send off first so that he will not be able to play against liverpool during the last match of the season.

When you carry a 20 Million price tag and fail to put away gaols that a top calibre professional would eat for lunch. I am genuinely sad to see the way things worked out for Robbie and wish him well.

He got a decent run in the early to mid part of the season. In the bulk of those performances he was non existant and missed way too many chances for a supposed quality striker. In the many matches he got subbed in, i felt he was performing poorly in them and i had no issues with him being subbed by Rafa.

In saying all that it's a shame it didn't work out, but i have no issue in selling him as the longer he stayed the less his value would be and i didn't see any improvement in either his performances or Rafa's use of him going forward, especially now that Torres is fit and firing.

He scored that double against West Brom and i thought here we go he looks so determined and purposeful....... but false dawn.

Then he scored a cracker into arsenal and followed it up with another double into Bolton. He looked like he meant business and i believed at that point that his season would take off and we might win the league. But ofcourse he wasn't really given a run in the team after that and now that he's gone i can't see how we are going to score enough goals to win this title

What a load of self righteous bollocks

If that gets sent then whoever wrote it is arrogant in the extreme to begin it "on behalf of Liverpool Football Club". The ****

I would imagine Robbie Keane knows exactly what 'Liverpool Football Club' thinks of him, and doesnt need some sentimental tosh to soften the blow.

Bottom line, and I dont know why some people are so spectacularly failing to grasp it, is that HE WASN'T VERY GOOD

He cost £20m, he should have cost half that. He missed more chances than is acceptable for someone in his position and he sulked and moaned when he got subbed BECAUSE HE WAS ****E

Regardless of whether or not his purchase was the right one, if he'd have been scoring goals for fun and genuinely justifying his price tag then we'd have found a way to accommodate him. ALAS, he didn't and so because the initial buy was seemingly an error, he was shipped out whilst we could still get a decent amount of cash for him

Bye Robbie. Lovely bloke by all accounts, proper Liverpool fan and all so sorry it didn't work out but I think there is really only one person to blame.......

A ridiculous letter, apologising for what ? He had a chance but couldn't take it, we are drawing to0 many games and he wasn't helping, those 3 sitters he missed in one game alone, £20 million player, My Arse !!!

And he's earned ...I mean been paid, around £2 million in his six months here and you think he's worth an apology.

I'm glad his affair with LFC is over, no hard feelings now lets move on and focus on the title and let Keane become a big fish in a small pond again.
