I agree that it leaves us short on strikers. My complaint is that for a supposedly top notch finisher, he missed a ton of chances that ought to have been stuck away. When Torres was out we were effectively short on strikers as it was

cos most people the 20mill aside thought he was a great signing

the main thing is its not rafas fault eh
Agree with you mate. The way Rafa has treated him is dispicable, ok so he didn't live up to the £20m tag, but he should have been given a chance. Now I know, you're goign to say he had time and he could've been better, but it's obvious that Rafa was using him to make a point, which is wrong. I feel very sorry for the lad.

How would you feel in Keane's position?

Exactly, what are we going to do IF Torres get's injured or Gerrard is found guilty and get's a prison sentance

if your on £60 or £600,000 you deserve support - and of course he is being used as a pawn in rafa ongoing battles - its bang out of order

problem is if Keane was going to be warming the bench and come on and not do a lot are we shorter now? Or in fact better off.

Better to have a player comming on happy to take his chance rather than say F off when sub'd.

Not sure Keane had the right attitude to not be the no 1 striker.
And Stevie is the player to support Torres.
Alonso needs Masher to allow him to support both the wingers and Torres/Stevie.

what were we going to do if gerrard got an injury anyway ? or torres

we are dependant on these 2, if torres is out , dirk will go up front , robbie couldnt do that anyway as it would be a change of system, he cant play up there on his own

all this bollox about keane, im irish and have followed keanes career throughout wolves/italy/leeds etc, he has had more clubs than hot dinners, never did it until spurs and used to miss sitters anyway.

i wanted him to suceed but deep down i knew he was never going to be good enough,, not concerned he is gone

                  onwards and upwards

I think he was treated very badly and the whole thing has made Keane, Rafa, Parry and the club look a joke. Cannot say he wasnt gave a chance he played a part in 24 games for us starting 19.

                      The fact is:

Keane were never meant to be a sub for Torres - but to partner Gerrard in the middle in front of Masch - and with Kuyt and Barry on each side - or as a sub. for Gerrard (as he was used against Wigan).

Barry didn't come - and to replace Gerrard - or wait to be a sub for him - its not worthy for a player like Keane.

He never took Torres' place - as it is not where he fits into the pitch - and not the wing - but CAF (central att. forward).
                      - - - - -

                      You will never walk alone

I would imagine Robbie Keane knows exactly what 'Liverpool Football Club' thinks of him, and doesnt need some sentimental tosh to soften the blow.

Bottom line, and I dont know why some people are so spectacularly failing to grasp it, is that HE WASN'T VERY GOOD

He cost £20m, he should have cost half that. He missed more chances than is acceptable for someone in his position and he sulked and moaned when he got subbed BECAUSE HE WAS ****E

Regardless of whether or not his purchase was the right one, if he'd have been scoring goals for fun and genuinely justifying his price tag then we'd have found a way to accommodate him. ALAS, he didn't and so because the initial buy was seemingly an error, he was shipped out whilst we could still get a decent amount of cash for him

Bye Robbie. Lovely bloke by all accounts, proper Liverpool fan and all so sorry it didn't work out but I think there is really only one person to blame.......

                          in january we were doomed.

in august we will rise from the ashes of ****e and march on again

i just dont get this whole treated badly thing, he just didnt perform and jsut dont think he adjusted to being at a big team.

Managers make mistakes all the time and this one hasnt cost us to much. It may have been he expected Barry to come, may have been expecting Torres not to be injured but long and shirt is he didnt deliver and when he was playing just never looked right.

It was a poor piece of business which doesn't make our club look clever. I saw Keane miss a lot of chances at Spurs, I saw him miss a lot of chances for us and I think I'll see him miss a lot of chances at Spurs again. I don't know what people were expecting, but I feared that the signing of him had written "fail" all over it from the beginning, especially when I saw the transfer fee involved. However, I have no problem with him personally and I wish him all the best and good luck, expect when he's playing us, obviously.

its not a case off rcdnw - its a case of the current squad where does he fit in the starting 11?

Loads said why did we get him for that reason.
Stevie is the best support player for Torres and Masher and Alonso the best CM pairing.

If we had off gotten Barry it could of been a different formation and maybe that would of asccomondated him.
                                But we didn't.

So who said yes to the signing is to blame. Or was Rafa hoping Barry would be comming Jan.
Alonso might off been sold to pay for it but Alonso's performance has been top notch and Keanes attitude re being sub'd was for all to see.

Could be a Parry and/or Rafa who have cocked up but have put it right ASAP
