So do you believe the official report or not?

I won't say too much at this stage as I don't want to taint the outcome of the poll. I just would like to know what the members of this site think was the real reason behind Keane's departure.

Yes. It was purely because he didn't perform.

No. There were other reasons as to why he was sold.

He clearly didn't perform well enough so yes. Rafa didn't believe that "he would come good" like some fans did

What's the point of a 'not sure' option?

Unless we're working in the club, none of us can be sure.

People will believe what they want to. And believe is exactly the right word as nobody outside the inner circle involved will ever know the exact reasons or their relative weight.
Remember, we're only adding to the nonsense.

Walking a lonely road one night, Nasruddin saw riders approaching. His imagination ran riot: he saw himself robbed or killed, so he climbed a wall into a graveyard and hid. Puzzled at his behaviour, the riders, who were followers of the Mullah, followed. Finding him cowering behind a grave, they asked "Great Sage, why are you hiding here?". "It's more complicated than you think" he replied, "I'm here because of you - and you're here because of me"

If the lad was banging in the goals then he would have stayed.

          The problem;

is that he didn't get the chance, because we already have Torres.

          £20 Mill bench warmer.

Unless Rafa changes his system, we can forget about signing world class out and out strikers.

          p.s.

There isn't one. It was just for a laugh mate.

well then surely that makes the 'not sure' option the only viable one, not pointless?

I won't vote on the poll, but I think he was sold because Rafa didn't want him in the first place unless Barry signed and Alonso went, as he didn't fit the system. Subsequently he didn't perform when picked in his favourite position and didn't show that he had the necessary adaptability to play anywhere else, so it made sense to cash in while we'd still get most of our money back. None of us can ever really be sure though without knowing what was happening behind the scenes and in Rafa's head.

                      So a bit of options a, b, c and d!

I voted bit of everything, but simple fact is that had he scored with his now infamous air shots he would still be at Anfield.

So are you suggesting that perhaps he was good enough for this club, but that Rafa was just trying to make a point?
                          Really?

A bit of both, Not convinced Rafa wanted him, but if he'd been doing well and banging in the goals I think he'd still have been here
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Rafa wasn't a big fan and Robbie didn't score enough.
