Of course everyone thinks their opinion is correct. My post above highlights the problem. "Great point, really mature" is needless as well.

Yeah and refusing to clarify what the problem is, when the previous post is quite vague to me, is needless too.

But whatever, let's just leave it. Fulham are winning and i've got better things to do than get into a boring internet argument with you.

I thought I had but if you don't think so, fair enough. We'll sort this out some other time.

..and aye, let's enjoy it. That's a refreshing change, I thought boring internet arguments were your forte

Good that Gerrard has also come out in support of Lucas (as well as Barnes). He said things like:

"The criticism he receives does get to me,

          I think people forget he's 22 years old. He's not 27 or 28."

I remember what I was like at that age and I look at where I am now.

I know that I'm a one-million-per cent better player now. I got better with experience.

I made mistakes and learned and it has helped me become the player I am.

Lucas is a good player and I know he'll continue to get better."

Hopefully that will help quieten some of the self proclaimed "experts" and reducce some of the criticisms.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion but there comes a time to back down and show some humility. When Benitez, Barnes and now Gerrard support the lad I'd be inclinded to conclude that maybe he's got something.

Lucas is a lot better than a lot of people give him credit for, had a pretty good season last year and has came on recently back into good form. When he is on form he looks a very very good player and fingers crossed he can get some consistency up.
Mascherano has stated that he is only finding his form now after being away at the Olympics, now I dont know how that would effect a player but would trust in someone like Mascherano to know how much it would effect him.

Do you expect them to come out publicly and say they dont rate him?

A logical assessment would be: Benitez rates him otherwisse he wouldn't persevere; Barnes and Gerrard didn't have to say anything, the fact they did indicates it's what they think.

                What's your interpretation?

I'd imagine that there was a specific reference to Lucas in the line of interview/questioning. I dont think they'd have just randomly plucked him from nowhere, as a topic of conversation, unless asked.

And from that stage, obviously their answers will have a distinct tone of positivity.

                    The article says:

The Brazil international, 22, has been booed by his own fans this season as he has struggled to find his best form and recently admitted that ‘some people don't trust me yet’.

However, he has already received the full backing of boss Rafa Benitez, and Gerrard has now called on the Liverpool fans to get behind the player as he develops.

I admire a healthy scepticism but I'm sorry I think yours borders on delusionary.

I think the journalist was doing a bit on the booing, and therefore made reference to Lucas specifically, with his questions.

Are you suggesting the journalist asked about our title bid and Gerrard said "Well no, i'd rather talk about Lucas and how much i rate him" ?

I think Gerrard wouldn't have said anything if he didn't rate.

Its clear the booing has annoyed a lot of Liverpool players and I would not be surprised that the captain felt the need to bring it up and show support for a team mate. Only Gerrard will know if that means he does rate him.

If he's asked about Lucas, he'll obviously speak about him and be complimentary. He wouldnt say 'I dont want to talk about that', would he?

Or perhaps he actually does rate him, absurd as that sounds!

Possibly. But the point is, if he doesnt rate him (which is more likely, IMO), he cant come out and say it.
