    Totally agree if available.

We don't need an out and out striker for now.

Henry ticks all the right boxes for me with regards to flexibility.

No, can't agree with young Torres here, i can see what he's saying, we don't need another striker all things being equal, but so many things happen in a season that you needs to be prepared for every eventuality possible.

The issue would be what sort of striker do we need, do we want to spend 25mill on one to rotate and play with Torres, or 10 mill on one that's good but only for cover and resting Torres, enabling money to be spent elsewhere on the squad.

Money is the biggest issue i suppose though, of course if we had plenty it would be a no brainer, get another World Class striker in and buy for other areas, would be nice to have enough cash for Rafa to get his 4 top targets this summer, his proper top targets, not players he makes his top target within budget, but the 4 players he would buy and that he could attract here, if he could tomorrow.

        We should sign the Hulk!

Jellyfish are 97% water or something, so how much are they doing? Just give them another 3% and make them water. It's more useful

            Carew is a good shout

I also agree with Danny about Owen:
-Will be available on a freebie leaving us more to spend on a really top class wide player.
-Gerrard knows his game inside out and he Gerrard's.
-Despite recent poor run he knows how to find the onion bag.
-I think at this stage of his career will be prepared to play less frequently and may even ironically be in a position to play more games because of it.
-Good relationships with some of our players and coaches already.

Carew can look good for 10 minutes but then for 10 weeks he will be absolute turd. No way should we ever sign him. Didn't Rafa bin him at Valencia anyway?

Was very impressed with Hulk tonight - apart from three or four times when he held on to the ball for too long and went down like a sack of ****.

That's interesting because i thought Hulk was poor. He's strong and holds the ball well enough (too long, sometimes) but there's no end product. Doesnt seem to know when to shoot and when to pass. He's not scored in the CL this season despite being so highly rated, and that says something to me.

Obviously i've only seen him play the odd time, but on what i've seen, i'm not all that impressed.

The Hulk was poor - the amount of times he had the ball and did nothing with it, you would need an abacus. Whilst I do maintain to the theory that he does hold the ball up, he was far too reliant on his left foot thus doesn't have the right balance which seen him fall down quite a lot.

I love the way you're calling him 'the' Hulk

I thought Hulk did exactly what was required of him. He held up the ball and put United under all kinds of pressure. You can see why Lopez scores all those goals with him as a strike partner.

Of course, he has alot to learn and there was a moment in the game for about 5 minutes where every Porto player became greedy and went for the shot/dribble instead of the pass. But other than that he was class. He'd be a star in the prem if he developed.

I was also a fan of Lucho Gonzalez. Some of his passes were quality, little dinked passes over the top, or cute passes behind Uniteds back four.

Hulk was a threat all the time with his direct running - the Mancs back four were terrified of him.

i agree. if money wasnt a problem i would buy villa. i would then sell off all of their assets keeping the best for us then make MONg clean the toilets in the changing rooms to punish him for being such an outrageous prick.
                            in january we were doomed.

in august we will rise from the ashes of ****e and march on again

Tend to agree with Joe here. Although poor may be a bit harsh I thought he became very predictable after about 20 minutes. He had United rattled at the start, but once they realised everything had to be on his left, they coped relatively easily.

Don’t think Carew is mobile enough to play the Torres role. Torres allows us to play quick counter-attacking football and also likes to peel out wide stretching the defence. You wouldn’t get this with Carew and inevitably we’d end up playing too many long predictable balls for him to hold up, just like we did with Crouch.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
