I thought you were still waiting for your first love. Or do you mean your first menage-a-une?
Nah, 6 months solid r'ship son.

i dont blame xabi i blame rafa for trying to get rid of him last year.
Me too. How DARE he want to sell a player that was underperforming. The gall of the man! Rafa out I say. He wanted to sell a player, because he thought an alternative to that player would improve the team?! Un****ingforgivable. Sack him now
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Has everyone forgotten the rumours a couple of years ago about his agent sounding out the big Spanish teams? Maybe that's why Rafa was happy to try to help him leave last season when - as someone else pointed out - he didn't seem to be particularly put out at the prospect of signing for Juventus. That's just as sensible a position as saying Rafa "forced him out".
He was an excellent player many times for us, but was frequently a forum target for the feeble-minded when he underperformed in the couple of seasons before last, which everyone seems to conveniently forget now.
He's a Spanish lad who played in a foreign country for 5 years, raising his profile hugely by playing for Liverpool, but it was inevitable he'd go home sooner or later. As it's World Cup time, what better way to consolidate his place in the Spanish squad - and he's only relatively recently become an automatic choice - than by playing for the most celebrated club in his home country?
He did well by us, we did well by him. He was very good, but not as good as the air-brushed, shiny version we see in the media today. He's gone, so thanks for what he did but let's all move on

"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey
Not really bothered as to what he's saying, but more baffling is the minor adulation
He put in a transfer request, he wanted to go, remember?
He was treated like an idiot by Rafa, when Rafa tried to use him as a pawn in the persuit of Barry. He knew he wasnt wanted by Rafa after that and yet he still gave 100% for the team. He even out performed Gerrard on many occassions.
Why should he wait around for Rafa to try and use him again.
Alonso was a true Liverpool player. One of the best midfielders we have ever had. His attitude both on and off the field was 100%.
He will (already is) be badly missed and I hope he has a super season at Real.
