Dannyman, you are easily this sites most postive poster - maybe i should give these groups a bit more benefit of the doubt instead of jumping to my conlcusion. - I think another way i see it that prob makes more sense to me the more i think of it, and isn't so much aimed at the groups themselves or what they stand for - but more the people lower down the chain if you like. ie the people who join these groups without really knowing what they are because they kinda follow the pack and have a an "i'm a member of [insert random name] and your not so therefore i am a better fan than you" attritude - this is the type of fan that would have been involved at the SOS xmas party - so it's prob more a problem i have with our small section of mindless fans as opposed to the real reason these groups are set up and what they do - and my concern is that these mindless fans kinda latch on to these groups to use it as vechicle to show they are true supporters! hahaha i think have gone round in complete circles

Mate, that is a very valid point and something that every group set up has to worry about. It is very difficult to create a membership that accepts all without attracting idiots. I think only mensa has the foolproof plan

But on a serious note, my big worry for SOS is that their ideas and actions will attract the wrong sort of folk. And as we are all aware, the actions of one person can very easily lead to the rest of the group being tarred with the same brush.

To avoid serious problems they will have to think very hard about ways to go up a notch without causing potential trouble and embarrassment to themselves and the people they claim to portray.

Young Sir, I have very broad shoulders and bigger worries in life than to care about piss taking from other clubs. My responce was merely down to replying to someone else on another point and I pointed out that there is already ammunition to fire at us if they liked, just as there always will be.

Football banter is all part of the fun and i don't think anyone seriously worries about such trivial matters.

It's ok to say they're trying to do something, but what are they trying to do exactly? Yanks out is only half a plan.

If they stop focussing on the problem until they at least come up with a viable solution first then maybe they'd get somewhere.

A load of 'hardcore' beer guzzling thick ****s whose roots go back to the days of militant unions. thee who shouts loudest wins.

They'll whip up a storm and though their hands will be 'clean' the no mark followers who hang on everyword further down the line will do something stupid and will tarnish 'all our reputations'. well thats the way I see it.

Nothing I've heard them say has any credibility at all. Boycott RBS, get them to put us into administration, buy the club at £500 per fan etc etc and now stopping them getting off planes and the like.

So the general consensus on here is that we are happy with the way the club is run, with zero trasnsfer budget and over 30 million a year being spend to service debts. BRILLIANT!!

in my opinion, sos are a gang of clowns telling us that our club is run by gang of clowns, to quote Obi Wan ... who is the more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows?

when sos started they were elitist and they can't take that back, they were an embarrassment from this point on, especially with the spade in the ground protest when there were spelling mistakes on the flags, the spokespeople generally come across as being "I'm more scouse than you so I'm right", and there's no need to go over the whole Christmas party shame, I suspect that the reason G&H or now Purslow are giving them any time is because they assume they can be easily manipulated, and from what I've seen they're probably right

I think they're a decent group with noble aims. But I'm a pragmatist, and I can't be doing with the "Yanks Out" shouting unless you've got some (realistic) idea of who you want in instead. There don't seem to be too many billionaires with a few hundred million burning holes in their pockets at the moment, and the shareliverpool approach seems to be a non-starter. Non-violent protesting will only get you anywhere if you are clear about your aims. "Yanks Out" with no alternative won't do. They aren't going to leave unless they make the sort of profit they are hoping for. Recent announcements suggest that they are paying off debt, and are boosting the commercial revenue of the club, rather than going bust. So what's the end-game here? Or is the shouting alone supposed to make me feel better?
