So are you happy with lucas as a replacement for Alonso or good enough for LFC? Because you are in the minority if you do.
What rubbish from the above posters for the main.

The teams were dead equal - something not uncommon in the big games. Had Torres took his headed chance in the first half I would bet we would have won the game.

At 1-0 we dominated the game and did have plenty of possession and created a good few openings. Gerrard unlucky when Cole got in the way, and Terry also made a last gasp challenge. Add to that a shot Torres put wide and should have scored. Then the two good chances late on were probably irrelevant - the Yossi and Gerrard attempts.

For me the difference today was that Drogba had a great game and Torres and Gerrard did not. Torres in other games could have had a hat trick.
To be fair Torres has turned up in 2 games this season, in the other he has been virtually anonymous

Not sure they did much wrong. All over the park today both sets of players were pretty much average and cancelled each other out. Both Chelseas goals on the counter thanks to great play by Drogba. When he is on his game he can be unplayable.

an individual error cost us, some comments way over the top in my opinion.

thought we had the better of the game and if Torres was his usual self we would have won. The defence does worry me but the international break is here now, will give Agger another game and expect him to start next game

He did his usual but his usual doesn't offer us what Alonso did going forward or calming us down. It's a fair comment.

I am happy with Lucas as a player. As far as I am concerned we have not signed a direct replacement for Alonso. The blame falls squarly on the pair of cunts who used the money from Alonso to pay of interest they landed the club with

i dont think anyone can be happy with that replacement, its clear Lucas is not in alonso's class but he did ok today.

It wasnt a dig at him simply that he isnt alonso. lucas did nothing wrong but he did nothing right and masher makes him look like a better player than he actually is.

lucas got slated by alan green and colin murray on radio 5 before the match for being not good enough to play in this team. Problem is the more you say how **** is he the more rafa plays him.

Pure and utter stubborness from someone who cost us the title last season.

Yes it was a poor result. But to suggest we cant win the league now is a joke.

We are 6 points off top with 30 games to play!
8 played and 3 lost .......a shadow of the side from last season ......what makes you think we can win the league?

Or how about the manager for spunking away £20m on a injured player who was out for 3 months rather than a replacement for Alonso? I am not saying Lucas is the worst player we have just that he is no where near good enough for that position of our team.

It's also a fair comment that Mascherano has been our weakest link in midfield this season yet Lucas gets all the flak.

The fact their Keeper was Sky Sports MOTM says it all.

We shaded the first 30 minutes, they shaded last 15 minutes of first half. In the second half I didn't see any problems and then BANG out of nothing Chelsea get a goal.

After that we had to go for it and Chelsea sat back and tried to soak up the pressure - Just as we would have done had we scored first. We created plenty of chances to level it, but didn't do it when the pressure was on and the areas were tight.

bar his mistake, mascherano was probably our best player. He was absolutely phenomenal.

Mascherano has been poor this season. Played well today especially in the first half though.

we bought him for 5 years not the first 3 months
