Now It's Grobbelars turn to have a go at Rafa

Liverpool legend Bruce Grobbelaar has slammed Rafa Benitez’s transfer policy suggesting the club’s dismal start to the Premier League and their recent Champions League elimination is a direct result of the Spaniard’s inability to assemble a good enough squad. Sighting the recent signing of Alberto Aquilani, the controversial Zimbabwean claims Benitez should never have signed someone not capable of playing in the first place.
Grobbelaar told TalkSport: “The man’s had 200 million to buy players and look what he’s got.”
“You buy a player that has been on a treatment table. He’s not really fit but I want him anyway.”
“It’s like going into a car showroom and saying, ‘I want that Bentley’ and the fella coming to you and saying, ‘well it’s got no engine’, it doesn’t matter, I’m going to take it anyway.”

The question I ask is don't you think the fact that everyone is speaking out against Rafa , they may actually have a point?

And nobody will be bowing down to kiss Rafa's feet. We're out of the Champions League and the Premiership - how is he possibly going to get everyone to bow down and kiss his feet?

grobbellaar has a point though we have had 200million quid thats 10 x £20 million world class players so we should have a world class team and a youth player......easy

          there is a reason that grobbellar/souness/another pundits/ are pundits.......they are ****e managers!!!

Or everytime someone is interviewed the questions are always leaning against Rafa. I don't think people just want to slag him off, he can't have made that many enemies especially with ex-players that far back.

Aren't they kissing Wenger's feet today? After lambasting him for most of last season? Didn't Ferguson get harsh comments when United went out of Europe altogether? Now he is king again. I think what we all need is perspective and relax, I think Rafa and the players will only learn from what has happened and it will work to our advantage in the future, maybe the fans will learn a thing or two about sticking together with heads held high.
              * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Any former player who has done f'all in club management I have zero time for.

If King Kenny said something, I'll sit up and listen.

I think we need to just take a step back and stop being so sympathetic to Rafa just for a minute. Yes his net spend is just over 20million a season but that still does not detract from the fact that he has spent over 200million in his tenure as Manager so far.

For whatever reasons, we genuinely seem to have regressed as a squad with depth this season. It is quite bizarre when the changes from last season are minimal.

Grobelaar raises a valid point and I just wish we would stop being so damned over sensitive to any discussions on this matter.

We haven't regressed we've just been hit by injuries to key players which has cut through our squad. The other teams have better squads and have spent far more than £200m since Rafa's been here.

FFS mate, City spent around £150 ****ing million in just one summer.

It just goes to show how good Liverpool were back in the day given the goalkeeper was on the take and we were still winning leagues!!

I bet Spurs have outspent us in that same period.

And who has the better squad right now? FWIW I think we still do but it is debatable to many.
