Are you deluded. I think you've missed the fact that we have been knocked out of the Champions League and have already lost 5 games in the league. We're conceding more goals and we're closer to a relegation place than the top. That my friend could be defined as "We have regressed". You can blame injuries or the god but the fact is, Rafa has had money to spend to build a squad. Even if Rafa only had £10 Million to spend every year, the squad should improve. Rafa is the one who decided to sign an injured player for £17 Million pounds.

The reason we have 'regressed' this season is because we spent a NET of £10k in a closed season that we needed to invest in the squad in order to kick on - 2nd to 1st is a big jump!
Coupled with the fact we over achieved last season we lost Alonso, arguably our most influential player last year. Injuries to our big players at key times has hardly helped. I mean, we used something like 11 or 12 defenders so far this season which is hardly the solid base we're used to is it?
Finally, as Wenger said, we have got out of games what we deserve - a beach ball away from at least a point at the S.O.L. 2 last minuite goals in the CL and the most one sided draw your ever likely to see when Birmingham left with a point.
In short things aren't as bad as they seem / look. And these ex-players and pundits are the same people who tipped us to win the title at the start of the season - no one was critasizing Rafa's transfer policy then!

Jesus some people need to get some perspective.

20 years without being champions or a force in Europe and along comes Rafa and turns us into the top ranked team in Europe and genuine tittle contenders. One decent spell of **** results, clearly because of a shocking injury list and all the kneejerkers are out with the knives. Maybe some people are too young to remember how **** we were in the 90s.

I for one am happy to ride out this blip in Rafa's record and wait for the fruits of his long term plans, even if it meant no silverware this season.

I stated facts - measurable facts in my post/opinion. Yet you haven't. The tediousness of your post and you indicates that when someone contradicts you with their opinion, you're only response is to attack that individual and not counter with a productive post/opinion of your own. You my friend are a sad individual and need to understand that this is a forum where people express their opinion. If you don't like it, don't respond by attacking the individual. If you can't do that, then GET THE **** OFF THIS FORUM YOU TEDIOUS ****!

Former players having a go at the manager is never good though as a previous poster mentioned, i too look to comments from king kenny as unlike most of the former players, he knows exactly what its like to manage one of the biggest teams in the world with all the responsibilties and outside pressures that come with it.
Don't get me wrong, rafa has frustrated and driven me crazy with some of the things he does but then again i'll never know what pressure he's under from day to day.
The question of whether to sack him or not should be taken at the end of the season when we can reflect on our finishing position and state of the team. In the meantime, the anger should not be on the players and to an extent the managers but the parasites which own and run the club.

And talking about the lack of depth in the squad, I think that can be attributed in part by Rafa going for more big name players now, if we get in one or two big players we have a formidable team. But that of course depends on Gog and Gokke at the top.
                            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

We got £30m for a player that Rafa valued at £10m the previous year. We sold a rb we purchased for £4m and sold him for £4m and replaced him with Rafa's target (£20m Glen Johnson). So, in short we sold a player that Rafa wanted to get rid of in Alonso, and made £20m more than Rafa anticpated and replaced him with Rafas target in £20m Aqua and £20m Johnson. How can that be turned around into us being weaker??? Whether we agreed with it or not, Rafa believed that Alonso was NOT part of his future plans, Aqua was his second target to replace Alonso and Rafa believed that Johnson was a BETTER player than Arbeloa. In Rafa's mind we had improved considerably, not "regressed".

The fact that since those changes we been **** by and by, before the season kicked off, fact of the matter is Rafa believed he had improved the squad.

With his improvements we're out of the CL before December and out of the league before Halloween. Lets be honest, we've been out of the title race from day one, its just that now the points difference is such that we've no chance.

We havent regressed, i think its a case of poor form at the start of the season when we were at full strength followed by a succession of injuries to key players thats contributed to this run we're on at the moment.
The only case of regression for me this season was after the win against Utd, i thought we would kick on from there and go on a winning run, to go from a performance like that to getting stuffed at Fulham was gutting.
