We didn't pass it well in the final third but our passing was excellent out of defence. We tried to play football in difficult circumstances. Stop ****ing whining mate, we won.

Been thinking about the match and have to say that I am quite pleased with the result. Two goals and a clean sheet against physical team when part of our squad is not fit should be greeted with applause.

Lines were holding and we were not hoofing that much even they gave some pressure. Attacking play should have been better but let's face it, Eeverton did was up to challenge and were shadowing every one all the time but still we managed to score.

What is actually quite alarming is how short team we are. Torres will bring little bit more for headers but just because our lack of height it would be good to give some playing time for Kelly when he is fit.

We won. I think that is more or less all that anyone should take from the game.

We need to keep that back four playing together in my opinion. Without some stability we will struggle to build any sort of form and those four are about the best balance we have.

I fell asleep for 15 mins during the 2nd half.

Interesting idea but at the expense of who? He can play either right back or centre back and those areas already have tall players in, the only member of our back four who is short is Insua.

I guess the shortest players we have are Insua, Mascherano, Lucas and Benayoun. You would assume that when fully fit Lucas will be replaced by Aquilani (although I've no idea if he's any good in the air) and in all likelihood Riera will replace Benayoun (or Aurelio in todays team). These changes would give us a bit of extra height
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He should be blooded on cup games and on Europa league as a centre back or right back. Johnson is not yet fully fit so there he has chance maybe against lesses Premier League teams. And let's face it, Carra, Johnson and Agger are not that good in the air even though they have much determination and Carra would go through brick wall.

Agree it is a problem when we have fully fit squad but.

So you've contradicted yourself then. I'm not whining, I'm just stating a point. Virtually everybody has stated that we played badly yet won but yet you thought we played well . I think you must have been wanking off whilst watching the game or something. I wonder why the word Best appears in your username. Is it a typo - should it in fact say Pest? Just a thought

I said we passed it well out of defence and we were trying to play instead of launching long balls out of defence. One particular move when we were under a lot of pressure in the first half and we did just that was telling. It was a joy to watch.

Now take your negativity out of this site, especially on a day like this. I'll respect your opinion when it's got some proper foundations, not when it's ill informed bile against Rafa because you're sick of his decisions.

we could've scraped a win against 11 pre-pubescent girls and he'd say we were excellent.

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

Read through every single one of my posts on this particular thread and state one instance where I have attacked Rafa. If you can, I promise you I will bend over and stick this HP EliteBook Laptop that I'm typing this on right up my arse. I merely stated we didn't play well and the majority of people agree with this. You said we played well which the majority of people would disagree with.

So you must like foundation then. Are you a cross-dresser by any chance?

To be fair its two extremes, Saj tends to be over negative and you are obviously brainwashed by the happy police

nobody can claim we were excellent today or a joy to watch, thats just nuts.

It was derby and derbies are no easy games. They rarely are great games and under the circumstances I think we played well. We won meaning we played well enough.

I don't understand the fixation with Aquilani then, he hasn't even played and shouldn't even have been mentioned at all.

Ha ha tony I like that line . He doesn't seem to understand that if you win, you can play badly. And it is good to critically analyse in these situations - that's the only way to improve!

I'm saying it's good we played badly and won as it shows the defence (and Pepe too) did well. It was the perfect test for them and will hopefully do their confidence wonders.
