Which is why whould have, at the very least, thrown him on at 2-0 when the game was all but won.

I'm all for easing him in gently but this is starting to take the piss!
Beacuase its not just about match fitness, its about learning to play the game almost a completely different way. THis is a really complicated situation and it wont be sorted by just throwing the player on for a few minutes here and there and seeing what he will do.

    In Rafa I trust.

PS. Guys, we're all Reds here. I'd suggest we cut out the personal comments.

How can he "learn to play the game in an almost completely different way" without actually playing? Are we schooling him on FIFA 10? It's nonsensical.

He should have come on for a knackered Gerrard when we killed the game off at 2-0, I fail to understand how anyone can disagree with that.

If Rafa made the decision, then he has to be right - apparently

WTF? Behave, 8 months out with injury, new league, new team , new manager, new country, new language and your asking about his morale?

He should and no doubt is waiting his turn until the manager and mangement team say he is fit and ready & he should be happy with that.

I am as frustrated as all that he has not had more minutes and am itching for him to play and be part of the first team. I am sure that about 90% of the reason is justified and maybe 10% is just Rafa's curious team selections. His time will come sure enough over the coming weeks - I am not sure the derby was the ideal game though.

He's learning just by watching the game.

I can understand your point, especially as Gerrard didn't have a good game today, but Gerrard is far more important to our team than Aquilani.

I think it was him who won the ball for Riera to have a go and which resulted in Kuyt scoring.

Rafa is trying to stabilise the team in terms of results. Now is not the time to experiment with Aquilani, 600% fit or not.
Because we played so well today as we did against Debrecen and oh City. How many of the last dozen games have we won again?

And I do care if he is match fit. A huge portion if this summers budget was spent on him. It's about time it was justified why Liverpool spent that money especially as we are weaker in certain other areas (i.e. defence and up front)

A dead derby at 2-0 was perfect IMO. If you are insinuating it was too phsyical then next up is an ultra physical Blackburn so he'll have to sit that one out too

A bit of game time in both of these games and he would have been in great nick for his first start against Fiorientina, thats all im asking.

Unfortunately watching football is not like watching porn - you don't learn anything by watching the game

Im sure he's watched plenty of Premier League football over the years, as have we all, are you ready for your first start yet?

Ludicrous to suggest he can adapt just by watching, but I'd expect nothing less from you.

Get a grip mate you are talking bollocks. If we get a bench worth £100m and every player on that bench is worth every penny then that would mean we are heading in the right direction. So seeing that our bench was stronger today meant that we are starting to have all our players back from injury, which is good news.

Can't be bothered to just play a player because he has to justify a big fee. The player has to prove it in training and in matches, the fee is irrelevant.

Benitez, and several other players, have raved over and over again about how amazing he's been in training but how can he prove it in matches if he doesnt play any!!!!

Of course he can learn by watching the game, and I didn't mean it was the be all / end all is it?

I don't understand the fixation on Aquilani sorry. World beater or not he has to wait for his chance. The team is starting to win again and it's about building confidence. It's better for Aquilani if he plays in a winning team and one brimming with confidence, rather than one which is still feeling its way a bit.

This is simple enough explanation if you ask me.

I would like you to calculate how much our bench was worth.

And I'm glad I have your approval to be ready to play premiership football - I've been watching premier league football (you probably call it soccer) since 1993. **** training, to get ideal match fitness players should be made to watch football. I think you should propose that idea to Rafa.
