Not only a song, but supposedly ethos from which this club was built on. Ethos which made us go through storms such as Heysel and Hillsborough.

Arsenal played like a side that had no belief in the first half, that's before we'd scored and both teams had a clean sheet, so of the two managers i'd say Rafa had his team the more prepared, the more fired up.

Even the law of averages should have given us more wins than we've had on this ****e run.

      Does not compute.

I'm getting the feeling that some modern lfc fans don't get from the song the same things others do.(and that's not to say they are lesser fans because of it).

YNWA stirs something in me everytime i hear it, if it comes on the radio/tv i put the sound up and feel very proud.

        Silly really, but true.

My worry at times like this is not the ribbing i get from utd and chav fans, which right now is torrid, but for the future of this great club, which is fast becoming unrecognisable to me.

After yesterdays result I was so angry that I had to leave home and go for a long run. When i came back things felt better and the anger that i felt at half time wasnt as strong.

However, i think something has to change at anfield whether its the manager, the owners or the players. We need some freshening up in january - someone to give the place a bit of a lift. A stellar name that would once again give gerrard and co the belief that this club is going in the right direction.

Whether that's a signing or a new manager. I really believe that the players no longer believe in rafa's methods and that showed yesterday in the second half. We had no fight , no desire and that's one of the worst showings of football I have ever seen by a liverpool team. Anfield was ****ing dead yesterday and rafa has always enjoyed the backing of the kop - but its fading fast.

I hope to god we can beat wigan and get this ****house of a season back on track.

The only similarity is that we sit back too much when we go a goal up, other than that the comparison is completely false. Back then we had Gerrard, Carragher and Owen who could be considered top class and would get into any other team. We now have Reina, Johnson, Carra, Gerrard, Masher, and Torres (and hopefully Aquilani soon). Back then we played boring negative football and tried to nick games on the break with Owen's pace. Now we play some great possession football at our best, as we did during the first half yesterday. That's not to say there's nothing wrong at the moment, just that I don't think we need anything like the complete overhaul that we needed at the end of Houllier's reign.

For me the only big mistake Rafa made this season (and it's a huge one) is going into the season with just one recognised Premiership standard striker. That was plain stupid and someone needs to take responsibility. If it was because the owners pulled the rug from under him with the transfer budget and he thought he had £20m left to buy a striker then they need to take responsibility, if it's because he thought the squad was good enough as it was then he needs to take responsibility. But rectify that problem in January, and the second half of the season should be better.

The biggest problem at the moment is confidence. The players seem to be expecting to get beat. At one nil up they sit back too much as if they are expecting the opposition to equalise. The only way that will change is by winning games, but it will take time. Form can be lost in an instant, but it's much harder to regain. If we'd managed to grind out a result yesterday then things would have improved. As it stands, we absolutely must get 9 points from the next 3 games. If not, then we'll have slipped further still before going to Villa away, and if we haven't built our confidence up by then and found a bit of form, they'll take full advantage and we'll really be in the **** as far as 4th place is concerned.

Finally, a word on our captain. When their first went in yesterday, Gerrard was stood on the half way line with his head down as if someone had just ran over his puppy. He's got to lead by example - that was an unlucky goal to concede, he should have been lifting the lads and telling them to keep their heads up. They've all got to pull together if we're going to get out of this, and Gerrard's got a huge role in doing that, regardless of how miserable he feels about the situation himself.
said this before.....if our talisman doesnt believe its very difficult for others.

The only person who i saw with a positive reaction after they got level was Pepe. He was going round to the other trying to get them going. It was if he was saying ok guys they have scored but we are better than this. come on guys they got a fluke. He seems to be the only one that is leading by example and if gerrard cant do that maybe pepe should.

So now that we can't blame it on injuries, we blame it on our luck. Can i ask a serious question - when does it stop being the factors we can't control and start being the managers fault?

When we finish outside the top six and united get to no 19 then it will be the same people who defended rafa and shot down others who asked questions saying why was he not sacked sooner. Then complain that we keep hold of managers that have lost the plot too long.

Some people need to take the red tinted glasses off. At no other big club in the world would 3 wins in 15 be good enough and the manager would be out the door. Chelsea, united, barca ect would have sacked their managers by now.

I think he's one of the few plus points of this season, but I do wonder if as the ball came across, he should have been aware that there was only one arse player anywhere near the ball and that, as he had gone in front of him, he didn't need to play it. Our players generally don't seem to look around enough and be aware of what's happening behind them (Arshavin's goals last year being cases in point - totally unmarked and the only player up the pitch).

What will it take to get our season on track - beating Scum didn't do the trick. A fit Torres will help and maybe 3 back to back wins?

Some people need to accept that others have a differing opinion and stop acting like they somehow see something that others fail to. It's pretty arrogant.

Some of us still have faith in the manager and his ability to turn things around. No right and wrong here, just different opinions.

The way we are playing at the minute i don't think we can get 3 back to back wins. 16 games in and 6 defeats, houllier was sacked in his last season with a record of 38 played and 10 defeats.

I agree i have had a lot of faith in rafa for the past 5 seasons but i have now lost faith but when i put my opinion across i just get abuse which i am sick of getting as i am sure you would be if i gave you abuse for keeping the faith which i would never do. I respect other peoples opinions and expect the same in return.

I am not being arrogant and if i am coming across like that then i am sorry. We have seen this time and time again with managers though, Souness, Evans, Houllier and now rafa.

I see no single easy explanation for this run, it just does not make any sense, as i've said, even the law of averages should have given us more wins than we've had.
