Senior Liverpool players turn on Benitez

Several Liverpol players have had a row with Rafael Benitez after turning on the former Valencia manager, according to reports.

Steven Gerrard, Fabio Aurelio and Javier Mascherano believe Benitez needs to be sacked after being frustrated with the lack of quality in the side.

An un-named source said: “Three Liverpool players are absolutely against Benitez to remain at the club.

“Aurelio, Mascherano and the skipper are unhappy with the team’s form this season and blame Benitez for it.

“Gerrard looked disinterested in training and Benitez had a go at him but Stevie wasn’t having any of it and the two aren’t currently talking.”

Mascherano is out suspended along with an injury while Aurelio has been dropped from the side after being kept out by Emiliano Insua.

I believe this, like Iv said before I think it is possible some players are now playing half arsed in the hope Rafa will be sacked.

Hmmmmm. If players aren't giving their all for the shirt just because they want the manager gone then they can f*ck off too imo. I'd love to be paid £40k/week and decide I'm not doing my job properly just because I don't like my boss.

I'd also find it quite surprising if Aurelio was one of those who have lost faith in Benitez, seeing the long history the two have together.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
    Mine angry and defrauded young?

      No quotes anywhere.

If Stevie has done this he should be dropped. He's done **** all for months anyway!

Right spoiled bunch of cunts, been sulking since the summer. Xabi don't want to bum you anymore Stevie, get over it.

Pretty much what I thought, but couldn't be arsed to type. So thanks

It's inevitable that this kind of ****e is going to get peddled about at the moment.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yes but there comes a point, Best buddies or not, when you have to say WTF is rafa at. Im sure there are quite a few of our players thinking this and if this is the case, they are acting in the best interest of the club. Some of Rafa`s decision making over the past 12 months has being off the wall, crazy ****.

Then drop all three to reserves and put youngsters in the squad, I think they're good enough to at least get a ****in draw.

dont really beleive this story but i could understand if it was true. stevie lives this club and it must be sickening to see ur gaffer not give two ****s over it. his decisions are getting more erratic and his treatment over aurelio stinks.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

12 months I think is harsh. I think Rafa made some excellent decisions in the latter half of last season, we looked to be a team on the up, and one with confidence too.

I also don't really blame Rafa for the debacle that was the summer, I blame Dumb & Dumber for disappearing our budget in the middle of the window.

However, Rafa has made some really strange decisions since the season began, and most importantly, seems to have lost the ability to get the best out of what he has got available to him. We are performing well below our capability - I don't think we have the squad to really make a genuine title tilt again this year, but we should be much better than where we're at right now. That does have to be brought to Rafa's door, maybe multi-million pound internationals shouldn't need motivating that much in an ideal world but in reality they do, and our team just seems to have absolutely no confidence in its own ability right now.

However, in no way shape or form, if players were "deliberately" performing below their ability, would that be "in the best interests of the club". Not that I believe they are doing that, but if they were and I was in charge I'd sack them on the spot, whoever they were. They're supposed to be professionals, and they should all be giving 100% every time they step on the pitch, whether its Rafa in charge or one of the Chuckle brothers, that's irrelevant to me.

Why exactly? Because he has often chosen Insua over him? Whether you agree with that or not that's not exactly terrible treatment. If Aurelio could ever go more than two games in a row without getting injured he may find he is first choice. Horrible nasty Benitez

we don;t have to beleive everything that is reported but Gerrard seems pissed off playing. you just have to look at his expressions, after all as many of us argue it is not his fault that

                        a. he beleived that we are going to win the league under rafa
                        b. that for all the players bought, the majority are average.

                          I don't think so

Oh come on now, Rafa may be losing the plot a bit where it comes to things on the pitch but I really don't think anyone can say he doesn't give 2 ****s about the club, that's ridiculous and rather disrespectful. Same as those who went before him, Houllier, Evans, Souness etc, they all cared about the club, but in the end weren't up to the job. Rafa may be in that place now, I'm not sure he can turn it around, but I'll never think he doesn't care. Ever.
