An un-named source said: “Three Liverpool players are absolutely against Benitez to remain at the club.

“Aurelio, Mascherano and the skipper are unhappy with the team’s form this season and blame Benitez for it.

“Gerrard looked disinterested in training and Benitez had a go at him but Stevie wasn’t having any of it and the two aren’t currently talking.”

Mascherano is out suspended along with an injury while Aurelio has been dropped from the side after being kept out by Emiliano Insua.

I believe this, like Iv said before I think it is possible some players are now playing half arsed in the hope Rafa will be sacked.
      It's complete and utter bollocks

I think the difference is that Rafa has seen that things do need to change where as Houllier seemed to believe we had more or less turned everything round after any win.

I actually think the Dossena start was Rafa's only truly baffling decision of the season starting selection wise. The Aquilani five second cameo was odd too but nothing else has seemed particularly hard to justify - much as in previous seasons it simply hasn't been what people expect.

The league has been bizarrely open this year and I really feel two (league) wins on the bounce and things might look very different. The danger of the way Rafa works has always seemed to me that sometimes much as good form can be multiplied by the way the team is setup to work as a unit so some defects - in the current team patience and calm leadership can be made worse. For me at the minute his policy of trying to tactically set up for each match as a different problem has exacerbated the effect of the injury crisis we had as we have failed to get any settled units in the team (possible exception - Mascher and Lucas in the middle but they are one which I feel really requires other players to be doing other things well for them to be a good option so that could be given as a negative).

This story stinks of unsubstantiated pish but who cares? I'm off to get my Rafa effigy and petrol can.

Good points... Might also make a difference if some of our 'Senior players' stood up & led by example.... cant believe how **** Carra & Stevie have been this season
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

If they have done this they should be dropped and ****ed off. Like has been said i would love to be on mega bucks and not perform well and then blame the manager! Gerrard has done **** all for months now and has looked **** since pre season. Mash has dreams of barca. The manager may pick the team but those bunch of spoilt rich ****s need to do the job on the pitch

Gerrard may be a legend but if he is acting like this he can **** off. He needs to look at himself before blaming rafa. Cheeky cunt.

Firstly we need to calm down as its not from any reliable source. Secondly, if it was found to be true then Gerrard hasn't been like this for months, he's been injured for a large part. Its only recently he's started playing like he doesn't care and I can't blame him. Sometimes a revolution is required post Rafalution.

I think the same thing is going on here
                        sadly, i agree.
ramos never got a grip in the league he seemed lost from the start and the cup win was merely paper over the cracks.
rafa on the other hand got us to a point where we all started to believe that we will be at least thereabouts again come the end of this season.

and that's what makes it all the more buffling for me. i completely fail to understand what's going on. yet it's rotten and has written disaster all over it...

                          So many people judging.

Do we have a single scrap of evidence to suggest this has substance?

Well, its more than likely that the report itself is bollox, afterall, most of what's in the media usually is.

However, there is a certain amount of evidence (which we've all seen on the pitch this season) that something is rotten in the state of Anfield
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                              Mine angry and defrauded young?

If there was any truth in this at all then it would be broken by the likes of Bascombe, Maddock or Barrett with good connections to the club - not some obscure website that most people have never heard of, with no actual quotes or sources named.

Christ, we all know that there's something wrong with squad morale at the moment, but we don't need to seize on any made up bollocks like this to know that.
