Surely that cannot be right? Can't all injuries of this type be fixed with surgery?

I think the criticism of Carra is a bit harsh, as is criticising Reina for the first goal. I agree though that if he had had his hands splayed out by his side for the second goal (which he should have done) he ought to have saved it.

I thought Agger was at fault for the second goal. He was totally turned inside on out the wing.
      Oh I don't know.

you'd hope so but the groin can be a notoriously dodgy area to fully recover from, especially as he's getting on now.

Depends what the problem is I suppose. For you or I to have it fixed surgicall would be no problem I'm sure, but Gerrard is a professional footballer and the muscles, ligaments and tendons in his groin will undergo significantly more strain than ours. They have been under that strain for his whole career, certainly 12 years or so as a premiership player. The body can only cope with so much before wear and tear takes it's toll. Then when you have surgery, our bodies will recover to their previous level, but will Gerrard's, I'm not sure.

Carragher was turned far too easily and Reina was beaten a bit easy as well.

Mine has been buggered for 20 months now (first did it in 12 years ago). I play once a week, but have to be really careful with it, and can't run more than 5 miles in a row.

Admittedly, I've not had surgery on it.

I snapped by banjo once, took bloody ages to sort itself out.

snap. i done my groin playing 5-a-side nearly 18 months ago. have to be really carefull. had hydrotherapy cause it was torn in two places but didn't keep up the physio for long enough.

                          Torres on beeb....

Fernando Torres urges Liverpool not to sack Benitez
                          Fernando Torres
Torres has scored 11 goals this season

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres says sacking manager Rafael Benitez will not solve the club's current ills.

Out of the Champions League and off the pace in the race to qualify for next season's tournament, the Reds have won just three times in 12 games.

"I think sacking the manager is not a solution," said Torres, who thinks the players are to blame more than Benitez.

"We have to play much better. The players are the people that have to find a solution to the situation."

He added: "It's a difficult situation but every top team in the world goes sometimes through a bad situation like Liverpool now. Like every top team in the world, Liverpool will get over the situation."

Strange for him to mention sacking the manager though

Maybe he was asked a question about it?
