because insua has undenyably been ****ing utter pish for a good while now. he has no defensivre capabilities, no pace, commits so many fouls each game and quite frankly isn't good enough. aurelio is a quality defender with a good left foot and composure but rafa continues to drop him for insua and then even picks dossena who was out of the picture for months over aurelio. he's even playing fabio at centre mid?!?!?!?

not so much horrible nasty benitez as ****ing frustrating benitez. he does this to players before and i dont like it. it stinks of lack of man management.

Aye if more of the players cared as much about the club as Rafa did, then we might see performances improve for a start.

Same as those who went before him, Houllier, Evans, Souness etc, they all cared about the club, but in the end weren't up to the job. Rafa may be in that place now, I'm not sure he can turn it around, but I'll never think he doesn't care. Ever.
fair enough. total frustration got me over excited there. he obviously does care about the club but he doesn't exactly show it too well.

This situation has got the same feeling as when Ramos was at Spurs. Shocking results, bizarre team selections/substitutions and players that don't look motivated. Other clubs couldn't believe how long he lasted.

I think the same thing is going on here

Cool. I think Rafa's biggest problem has always been his stubborn streak. Now all the best managers have that side to them, much though I hate to use him as an example, look at some of the things Fergie has done over the years: such as bombing the likes of Ince, Beckham, Van Horseface etc out of the club, much to the general chagrin of most of their fans. You've got to be single minded.... but you've also got to be able to accept when you're wrong and change tack. That for me is Rafa's biggest flaw, he'll stick to his plan long after its become obvious to everyone else, including his own players, that it really isn't going to work. In many ways its an admirable quality to have that much faith in your own convictions, but its a ****ing frustrating one too.

Yup, I've been getting that feeling for a few weeks now. I'm really not at all convinced any more that this can be turned around. Its not even the results themselves, its the manner of them; the whole atmosphere around the club just feels wrong at the moment.

It makes very uncomfortable viewing. Sad times.

I was amazed Rafa was saying that we were doing well until Mascha got sent off, it could have come out of the mouth of Houllier

He's better than Houllier in that regard though. He has sold loads of players that weren't up to standard.
                          Oh I don't know.

At least we haven't started "turning the corner" after every game, that Houllierism used to drive me to apoplexy
