the following players have had too much game time this season and it's cost us:

- Insua
- Babel
- Kuyt (on the right)
- Lucas

Improving the squad is something that is achievable even with our budget and I think Rafa knows this. Maxi Rodriguez is a good start.

I agree with a lot being said in here.

Gerrard does look utterly fed up, i think its more a case of constantly carrying the team then the groin injury, obviously that is having an effect!

The defence sorting there act out and not looking like clueless feckers as well as the addition of a strike partner and some wingers and there's potential to having a bloody good team.

Just comes down to the fact of who's going to lead us?

Yeah we've had no choice to play Lucas but it's cost us. We needed an experienced midfielder (not Mascherano - still has tantrums) and I'm not talking about a big money signing.

blinded by ur dislike for babel i sense. the man tried harder than most last night when he came on and got more than the obligatory 5 min bull**** sub apperance. it's all about confidence with babel. he was awesome first year and not given a chance since.

I haven't said we crushed them mate, but time and again we got the better of them. As for the winger part, I don't think Rafa plays with a typical winger, and neither does Mourihno. They seem to favour more 'rounded' players if you know what I mean, ones who can play in a number of positions. Maybe the signing of Maxi is a step in trying something different I don't know, but I'm not sure he's a winger per se, though I can't vouch for that as I haven't seen him play much.

I'm sure Rafa would have done a lot better if had more latitude in the transfer market. Mourihno still had to splash a fair decent amount of money on Drogba and al, all very expensive players, unlike Rafa who could afford one of them, not 3 at the same time.

We got the better of them twice, and had a few 0-0 draws. They beat us several times

I wish Rafa had of just bought 1 class player a season rather than several mediocre ones, hoping they would come good for us. He took the gamble by doing it with Torres, and it paid off handsomely.

Ok you might think that but if you searched the forums you'd see that I've always tried to support him. However, enough is enough. You say he tried more than others last night but I thought he was useless. Then we'll get some games when he doesn't try hard enough. I'm not using Babel as a scapegoat; he was mentioned on a list with a few others. He just doesnt seem to be able to get into games. Our play becomes even more disjointed when he plays as his ball retention is poor. Thats why I said he's had too much time on the pitch. He's no good for LFC. I wish him all the best wherever he goes. I don't dislike him.

its january and we are out of the premiership race, we are out of the champions league, we are out of the carling cup and we are out of the FA cup. The first decent team we play in the europa we will be knocked out.

Absolutely spot on. I couldn't care less how we win as long as we do. 1-0 wins all season through deflected shots off the oppositions goalies arse every game meaning we win the title, I could live with that.

If Gerrard plays closer and actully gives a **** plus we have a couple of wide players i dont think this will be as much of an issue.

I agree, if we have Riera and Maxi playing, it will have a massive impact.
