The only way I can make sense of it is he typed 'fickle' but meant to call you 'thick.'

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Your point was it was an attacking line-up, I'm saying it wasn't - injuries don't come into it.

Well it wasn't defensive, certainly not. It's all about winning, even if it's ugly. We need battlers out there at the moment and I don't think Aquilani playing in place of Lucas or Mascher would have changed things. We might have even lost.

It can't be more boring than what we're currently being subjected to in all honesty.

It was defensive. I'm not saying it was right or wrong playing a defensive team, I'm merely saying that your statement that it was an attacking line-up IMO was incorrect.

The difference though is that we play some exciting, attacking football when we're full of confidence whereas with Mourihno it's the same tactical dull **** all the time, even brimming with confidence.

Love him or loathe him he has got results not through the cheque book but through man management. His players would all die for him. The chelsea players nearly all went on strike after he left. Drogba has only just recovered with the arrival of Hiddink/Ancelloti.

Granted his football teams have not played with the elan of a wenger or even a fergie but he has got results. I also think his chelsea team played better football than given credit for. I stated in another thread recently and will state again. He has went unbeaten at home for 8 years across 3 leagues. Astonishing stats.

I have my doubts too about his media style etc but if he came and we won the league again I wouldn't be complaining.

I agree with what you say, and find it highly odd that people count it against him that he only managed big teams - aren't we supposed to be one of the big teams as well?

Mourinho is one of the best managers around, and if he got here and got the players to start sacrifizing themselves again for glory I would be thrilled. He is a great man manager and gets his team 100% behind him and is good at diverting attention for his players.

And btw. it's still a bit one sided calling benitez time at valencia a succes created only by him with no money backing. It was the time when valencia had a bit to throw at the team, plus he inherited a great team there with so much potential. The massive amount of talent they had there was not Rafa's work, he "just" got them to play well together.

I still hope Rafa gets our team to work out, and would much rather see him win the league with us than Mourinho, but I would still be happy beyond words if he came in here and won it with us.

And what about the players trying not to lose because of the **** that's been going on before?
It's not about just personnel, it's about the mentality of the team.

Our mentality was not remotely attacking, in the slightest. It was actually embarrassingly negative.

Possibly because they want us to be good.

His style only seems to work when he's got loads of dosh behind him... If we had some i wouldnt mind... But saying that if we had some i'd rather see Rafa using it to build on the foundations already in place.

You say that, but when has he been in a position without loads of dosh, and failed?

How do we know that he wouldnt get the most out of the squad we CURRENTLY have, without spending loads of dosh?

Do you not think, at the very least, that he'd have us in the top four comfortably this season?
