God help us when will they learn that for them to be a cause for good that they need to get some benefit from dragging our name through the mud in the press every week. Backstabbing Purslow has NO benefit. Squealing on him moaning about his bosses, jesus is this playtime at school? Have these people ever worked in the real world?

this is actually their reason for investing in sport. as it means they can get away with taking the piss with prices FAR more than they could in any other business.

they saw great international brand loyalty for a knock down price when they bought us. their business plan makes good sense. its just us as fans / customers that get creamed and if we are expecting any kind of grand gestures because they are worth a lot of money then we're completely wrong.

they bought a great brand that had massive amounts of value that could be extracted. that's how they see us. and they're right. they just don't have the ability to extract it because they're leverage merchants during a recession.

oh and SOS are generally an embarrassment and releasing that was a massive own goal. its in everyone's interest to let the banks force new investment / sale of the club. its h & g's inability to refinance not the actions of some lout fans that are putting pressure on us.

Liverpool fc was a goldmine waiting to be exploited its just that the muppet in charge of us previously was too busy watching the matches and being a 'fan' than trying to maximise the commercial revenue streams that would turn us into a true superpower.

The fact that we have 60,000 people waiting for a season ticket and a 3 year waiting list for a corporate box says a hell of a lot about this club. You really dont have to be a genius to figure this out and unfortunately the last lot werent.

I've not claimed to be 'right' or 'wrong', i'm just expressing my views based on how i see things, and what i think. Same as you, i think.

So based on you having 'zero knowledge', by your own admission, it's quite a leap to jump to, to suggest that i'm 'standing my ground' even though i'm apparently and factually 'wrong', despite no clear cut 'black or white' answers being available.

In fact, i'd be inclined to think that you dont actually know what you think i am even 'wrong' about. Feel free to explain it though.

By reading what Purslow has said, he seems to share the same contempt I have for the owners and disagrees with their way of "business".

So why harp on about 'ruin' and 'collapse'? Oh, that's right, because 'reduced profitability' doesn't sound the same. You should write headlines for the Daily Mail.

That's true with ticket prices etc but they still need to maintain the investment in the team, without Champions League football the clubs income and hence their profits are significantly reduced. If they didn't realise that they are foolish

I agree - that's twice in quick succession. But I'm referring to Purslow's comments about G&H investing their own money in the club.

You keep changing your mind:

taking on a business merely to suck money out of it and leave it in ruins

generate profits on the expense of the collapse of an institute that is worth far more than just money alone

It won't go tits up fortunately because there are buyers lining up. Worst case scenario for them is sell the club without a profit.

So which is it? Disaster looming, or just sale with no profit? You can't have it both ways.

Disaster looming unless there is a sale. We're fortunate enough to have buyers. Not very difficult to understand where I'm coming from.

I can't imagine there are many fans who don't want the same end goal as SOS, however there are clearly a lot of fans who don't agree with their methodology to get to that goal.

The effort is applauded, people are just questioning whether humiliating Purslow in the press is a good idea. After all he is the guy who is currently trying to convince people to give us money to get rid of the yanks. It doesn't seem like this would help him do that. SOS have a history of making bizarre decisions, that pander to the mob mentality but don't make sense in the long term. They need to upgrade the experience quotient of corporate shennigans on their board or inevitably, it seems to me anyway, they will continue to shoot themselves in the foot.
