It's particularly stupid and arrogant when you consider that scousers are now a small minority of the support of the club, even within the UK.

As for that SOS lot, what a bunch of self-important, jumped up nobodies. I've never seen a union that didn't represent employees' rights, so for this lot - just fans of the club, not employees - to call themselves a union is laughable and an insult to proper unions down the years. Sums up their self-important attitude and shows how far-removed from reality they are
I'm a Norman Tebbitt Scouser (I had to get on my bike to find work elsewhere), I was raised as a socialist and have worked closely with real trade unions over the past 15 years. I have also had a season ticket for most of the past 25 years and I am proud of my working class roots yet I agree with everything you said, mate...
There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.

I also think the fact that they're local lads and most of them are old enough to have seen happier times at LFC means the club means more to them than it does the average OTT, hence their general lack of support on this board. Controversial view I know but thats what I think.

I don't quite get all the ":", does everyone from Carlisle claim to be Scottish as they're close to Scotland ? unfortunately it is about the boundaries, if not, next time there's a bin strike in Liverpool get your mates who work on the bins in Huyton to come and empty mine please

Desperate post ,mate. Next time you see Steve Gerrard, Joey Barton, Hibbert et al tell tell them they're not scouse and see what reaction you get. Laughable argument.

Just a little anecdote on the subject of SOS and these minutes...

Stan Collymore was saying on the subject of sos, how he was "loving their work".

that's without bringing Alonso and Arbeloa, into the equation.
Cisse at a profit? Even Gross it doesn't cover the Torres deal

it does sound very much to me that you are from one of these outposts and are claiming not to be due to some strange unknown reason but if you're happy with that then good luck to you

and if I was ever in the same company as any of them I would gladly tell them

Huyton, Kirkby & Bootle are not within the City boundaries. Why do you think Evertonians were up in arms when it looked like they were off to Kirkby? They're part of Merseyside, but NOT Liverpool.

You obviously don't get what I mean. Do you honestly believe that if people from Halewood, Bootle, Huyton, Kirkby were on holiday and someone asked them where they were from they wouldn't say "Liverpool"? Evertonions foolishley took the bait when Reds took the piss. They should have just ignored what was a pretty lame taunt. FWIW If Liverpool decided to build the new Stadium in Kirkby I'd still consider it to be in Liverpool. I wouldn't take any notice of what some gob****e town planner decided in the seventies. I've known literally hundreds and hundreds of people from all the areas you list and I think they would all consider themselves to be from Liverpool. Oh, by the way, I'm from Anfield.

I think we'll all agree that being Scouse is more of a Merseyside thing, but they're definitely NOT from Liverpool. & I'm from Old Swan.
