All very true. I'm from Liverpool but live down south and we have massive support here. The southern lads are every bit as enthusiastic and emotional about the club as any scouser I've ever met, so I can't stand the pricks who denigrate supporters from outside Merseyside. It's particularly stupid and arrogant when you consider that scousers are now a small minority of the support of the club, even within the UK.Originally posted by Will View PostCan you imagine if this club was for locals only? it would've dead a long ****ing time ago! Its arrogant and ignorant. People like you really piss me off. We should welcome support from all over the world and ny look down on them. SOS clearly do. Anyways there a Union and usually bring down whats closest to them. More spin from SOS too. To be fair i couldnt care less becouse there a bunch of ******s who are only intrested in publicity.
As for that SOS lot, what a bunch of self-important, jumped up nobodies. I've never seen a union that didn't represent employees' rights, so for this lot - just fans of the club, not employees - to call themselves a union is laughable and an insult to proper unions down the years. Sums up their self-important attitude and shows how far-removed from reality they are

We're the only that would have ****e like this posted on its fans forums.
Aren't Liverpool FC meant to be a well run, boardroom matters kept private football club?
No, not anymore we're a ****ing laughing stock with all this ****e coming out every other month with big statements and interviews which amount to **** all.
Going round and round in circles.
I know United's debts have been talked about lately by there but most of the time it's on the field matters the worry about. Same with Arsenal and Chelsea fans and most other clubs supporters."Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

The point is though that Dubai is not a country in its own right. It is just one of seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates. So all this talk of being baled out by Abu Dhabi is slightly disingenuous as it's just money going from one part of the country to another. The emirates each pool money into central funds and it's from this fund that Dubai has been drawing during the recent down-turn.Originally posted by James P View Post
Dubai is a constitutional monarchy. Unless I'm very much mistaken, that means that the state and the ruler are effectively the same thing. Which means that he's still skint.
Each emirate has its own ruler (an absolute monarch) but the UAE only has one president and one prime minister for the entire country, so the offices of state apply UAE-wide and not within one emirate or another. So there is no Dubai "state" in a governmental sense
The UK is a constitutional monarchy but the emirates are not; they are absolute monarchies.

I'm still pretty sure that I read that they were a constitutional monarchy. Indeed , when you google it virtually every source refers to Dubai as a constitutional monarchy.

Even if CP did say exactly what the SOS suggests, 95% of his suggested changes are actually helpful in that they result in greater clarity and fuller answers. In should be obvious to even a single-celled creature that putting the other 5% out in the public domain served no-one's best interests other than the publicity-hungry.
I thought the most important thing to a LFC fan is LFC (after the wife, in case she is reading this). Releasing this material has given more publicity to the SOS at a possible cost (but certainly no benefit) to LFC.
Fantastic.
SOS, please just go away.

Correct. They are more interested in "sticking it to the man" than solving the actual problem. Some of the comments from the SOS guys that were in the meeting afterwards were pathetic and school playground stuff. "He hasn't got the balls to take me on face to face". Tom Hicks has a look of Boss Hogg about him. I can't help wanting to squeeze his cheeks and go 'ahhhhhhh'. I'm sure it'll pass.Originally posted by Operation View PostAlways borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

Agree about the commercial side, but to be fair it didn't take a hell of a lot of nous to improve that. It couldn't have been much worse.Originally posted by Rich View PostNice to see no-one bleeting about the evil H&G has come up with an alternative to the situation we find ourselves in.
In commercial terms the club is light years ahead of where it was only 5 or 6 years ago - and it's a bit misleading saying that Bellamy and Cisse on their own allowed us to buy Torres - that kind of transfer just wouldn't have happened with the previous owners, not just with the initial large fee but the commitment of a 6 year contract and very high wages.
It isn't fair to compare our spending to under Moores directly because Premiership revenue has increased massively. Furthermore, whilst there have been more "marquee" signings, the actual average net spend is3rd place. Worst champions ever.
