Gerrard had a mare last season, both in his performances and his attitude which left a bad taste in my mouth to say the least.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostTorres' goals to games ratio defies belief, but two of those players were either injured or recovering from injury or couldn't be arsed for most of last season.
However there's no reason a good World Cup and pre-season won't see Gerrard hit top form as the new season begins...
Whether it's at Liverpool, **** knows.
As for Mascherano, he had a poor start to the season, prob still sulking from not getting his summer move to Barca...
but he was back to his very best in the 2nd half of the season and he appeared settled and willing to stay at the Club,
now though

I really didn't want Rafa to go, but he's gone. Forget the sentimentality of the situation and imagine that a new manager could actually get more out of our players? It's not beyond the realms of possibility. I hate the ****ing Yanks with passion, but whoever becomes our manager will be our manager.

Bit nervous abour woy coming in, but he is disciplined and has got out a lot of his teams._____________________________________

i think it would be difficult not to do as good as rafa's last year, no matter who came in....nt saying that Rafa would have done the same this season mind.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostI really didn't want Rafa to go, but he's gone. Kenny Dalglish is willing to replace Rafael Benítez as Liverpool manager — but only if the Anfield board considers him to be the best possible replacement for the Spaniard.
Dalglish, who resigned as Liverpool manager in 1991 before returning to the club last year in a new ambassador’s role, had been asked to help Christian Purslow, the managing director, to find a successor to Benítez, who left last Thursday by mutual consent.
Benítez was confirmed last night as the new coach of Inter Milan, where he will succeed José Mourinho.
However, Dalglish has told friends that he would like the job, although he is not willing to compromise the club in any way by making his interest in the position known.
Roy Hodgson is the early front-runner to take over at Anfield, with Liverpool understood to be preparing an approach for the Fulham manager.
But Dalglish, who won three league titles during his six-year spell in charge from 1985, believes he has the credentials and the standing within the club to take on the job for a second time.
Such a move would undoubtedly be popular with supporters, who view Dalglish as a legend, but whether the Liverpool hierarchy believe the 59-year-old is ready to make what would be an emotional return to the dugout, despite not having managed at the top level for almost a decade, is open to question.
Dalglish is unlikely to put pressure on the club he served as player and manager by publicly declaring his interest, but he will inform Purslow and his fellow board members of his belief that he can do the job if called upon. He can do so in the confidence that few, if any, of the contenders to succeed Benítez can boast such an impressive CV and that none of them can match the depth of his association with Liverpool.
Dalglish has always maintained that he would be ready and willing to help Liverpool in any way should the club call upon his services, but the present situation is complicated by the fact that he is not on the shortlist that is being considered and he would have to forgo his role on the selection panel for that to change.
Inter confirmed that Benítez will take over as manager of the European champions. “We have reached an agreement and we have sorted out all the last remaining details,” Massimo Moratti, the president, said. “Tomorrow we will announce when Benítez will be unveiled to the press.

Originally posted by Broner View PostIt's a possibility man, it might be a steady the ship job with Hodgson.
Aside from the fact i stuck £50 on Hodgson to be our manager at 4-1 id be relatively happy if it happened.
At the end of the day Mourinho, Hiddink, Capello, Van Gaal and many other more high profile managers are unavailable for one reason or another.
And it's not as if Hodgson isn't highly experienced.
He's been around the block and with Fulham he's produced miracles, of you cant compare Fulham and LFC but still, it shows he has something about him.
I think he might surprise a few..
Personally I'll be really pleased if we can appoint Hodgson although he's not my first choice.
Think he'll bring a sense of much needed calm and belief to the club and his appointment will also make the players work harder than before.
I know he's not to everyone's taste but we need to give him a chance, this is probably Hodgson's last chance to have a real go at the big time and I'm sure he will want to succeed as much as everyone. He is a football man first and foremost and even though he may not be a Liverpool fan I'm sure that he feels sad at the way the club is at the moment and will want to turn things around.
I think the players and fans will in time come to love him and he will have us playing some decent stuff. Those who backed Benitez fully need to back Hodgson or whoever the new man may be.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

My gut feeling is to be dissapointed if Hodgson is appointed as our new manager
I would really like to think that we could attract a bigger name in football than him. Considering he is in his 60's and never managed a top-club (inter aside perhaps but not in their winning days). If we where to get a manager with his record I'd rather it be a younger more promising manager that could be built upon.
