Oh yeah and Michael Brown is an absolute cunt of the highest order. Has a proper inferiority complex to Gerrard.

Also didn't he used to play a bit? I remember him years ago being a playmaker type who scored a few goals.....these days he just seems to be an unaccomplished hatchet man.

Around the time we went to Bramall Lane for that semi final 1st leg, Brown was their playmaker/goalscoring midfielder. He scored about 20 goals from midfield that season. Bizarre. I think that season was an exception, but he does seem to have degenerated into a total ****house hatchet man.

We shouldn't dismiss this as a reasonable result against a poor side, Portsmouth are down and their players are giving it their best trying to put themselves in the shop window. We should have beaten them earlier in the season - now the pressure is off them they're probably a more difficult side to beat. Good result tonight anyway.

Great to see an attacking and overall positive performance last night, we looked a bit like we did last season. Portsmouth where very poor, but it's still these type of games we have had trouble winning this season.

Aquilani was a joy to behold and he simply has to play against Lille now to get a momentum going.

We where so much more dangerous without Lucas and Kuyt in the team, and we actually had 5 players seeking the box at all times last night as well as to forward going back - a totally different attitude than most of this season.

4th is still within grasp but it will be hard to gain as we could easily be 4 behind spurs and 5 behind city with 8 games to go.

                          __________

We are still in for a though one with us facing both chelsea and scum in the last eight with no real room for dropping points.

Tottenham have the top-3 to face in consecutive matches to hopefully they will drop enough points in those games for us to overtake them.

City playing both arsenal and the scum as well as Villa and Everton that are both tricky games, but they still have a decent run in.

If we are to even challenge for 4th place we need to pick up our away for that's what's holding us back:

                            .........Pl..W...D..L..F....A....PTS
                            Home 15..11..2..2..37...13..35
                            Away 15...4...4..7..12...17..16

We are averaging 2.33 points per game at home compared to 1.06 away from home, that needs to significantly improve in the remaining away games, and none of those games will be easy, scum is obviously always a tough one, Birmingham are having a great season and Burnley and Hull are battling against the drop
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
