IMO, a good boss is one who devotes most of his attention to those that are prepared to follow instructions and who trust that the boss is best placed to give out such instructions. Staff who attempt to elevate themselves to a managerial role can be dealt with in only one way - by being ignored and then by being moved on. Rafa's at phase one with Reira.

If we're to believe what's being said in the press today, of course.

also JP is just a **** and nothing he says can be taken with any sort of judgement

I agree. But this is an area where Rafa needs to work on.He is a young manager and he has plenty of room to improve.

Riera had a history of mouthing off when things dont go his way. Same with JP. If there is one thing we know it is that if you dont have the right mentality you will not succeed under Rafa.

Fowler, Hammann, Sami - All of them have come out and praised Rafa's man management. So it is not like he does he does now know how to put an arm around the shoulder.

I personally thought Rafa's treatment of Crouch when he did not score in his first three months was brilliant. Crouch was being ridiculed from all quarters and Rafa did a brilliant job of shielding him.

Just heard the end of Guillem Balague on talksport and he said he asked Rafa about Reira earlier this season and Rafa said Reira is a little kid regards to attitude and training and he wasn't injured

I thought he was very good last season so it would be a shame to lose him but I expect us to sell at least one of Babel, Benayoun and Riera in the summer.
Ballague just been on Talk****e saying that Riera has not been misquoted as he has said it twice, on 2 different radio stations, also he is bound to be fined and the only way back would be for him to get his head down in training

He also commented that Riera was left out in pre season games due to his poor showing/attitude in training which may tie up with his previous comments

Riera angling for a move, well good, hes too bloody inconsistant.

No matter what anyone thinks of Rafa these comments are self serving only.

We have two huge games coming up and he starts with this ****e.

Babel must really have him worried, ****ing asshole.

The problem for Riera is that he will only go if the price is right for Rafa...if not he has royally shot himself in the foot. Like it or not Rafa runs the team.
                Quit your jibber jabber!!!

Jermaine, you know the song Billie Jean...is it about the tennis player??

Well the fact he's knackered after 10 seconds and never makes it past 60 minutes makes this the logical explanation of this mess.

Cream read on RAWK that Babel and Darby had a falling out and were due to fight it out in training. When he turned up however, it was Riera and Pacheco.

Where would we be without him? He'll be sticking his neck out later saying that Reina will be starting against Lille

Not sure where the rumour originated but Dave Usher on TLW has some information apparently:

He was sent home, whilst Pacheco was in tears. A couple of the reserve players who were there felt Riera was right to do it, and that Pacheco needed bringing down a peg or two as he is greedy at times and was getting a bit too cocky.
