    we were set up to get an early goal and defend it from there...... we did the hard part and then were shafted by the ref.....

    i think we could have got a draw or maybe even a win. We were unlucky. We didn't play brilliantly but at the same time, united didn't either. It was a tight tough game. It was 2 teams essentially playing 5 men midfields.... what do you expect, play 4 strikers from the start - kevin keegan tried that and look where it got him.

    If you know so much about football tactics, what the **** are you wanking around on here for??? you should apply for the job.....

              Can see us finishing 8th, which I think would be the lowest position in my entire lifetime? I'm 32, the worst I can recall is 7th.

                      Didn't we finish 8th under Souness c1994?

                      Edit: It was the season Souness was sacked and Roy Evans finished the season in charge

                              this is what you get when you show no attacking intent whatsoever. no movement, no desire, deprived of ideas just hopeful hoofing. we're a team of midgets yet constantly play long balls then lose the aerial battle and do what we're set up to do - defend. utterly depressing to watch...
