Thats irrelevant, he got the **** kicked out of him against Benfica only three days before hand with us down to 10 men for the majority of the game.

Personally, if Torrea needs resting it should be against Benfica in the European League Cup, not the PL. When was the last time we sang about our UEFA cup wins?

But what pisses me off most is the situation where LFC has ony one proper striker

Hes right though, the thing is the two toughest games we had left where away to Brum and at home to the Chavs, we knew we would drop at least two points over the these two games so Rafa is calling it right imo.

Problem now is that Citeh have their tails up.

Hes doing his best to manage Torres, he took him off against Benfica as well, that fact is we need Torres to start to win games.

If your saying that we should have started Ngog up front in Benfica well I just cant agree with that.

sorry but you really can't play games with high stakes at the tail end of the season .....knowing theres nothing to fall back on ......had we 10 games then yeah make remarks like this .....but he might just be ready to fall on his own sword by this saying ......i hope we do get 4th but it's a very very tall order

What do you think Rafa should have said after the game mate?

We could rest him for the Benfica game on thursday, but he was tired in the Birmingham game so had to take him off. IMO we took him off because he was tired and couldn't give us enough to win the Birmingham game, we didn't take him off to rest him for midweek

Spot on all round mate league has to be priority if players need resting.

There is far too much reliance on torres that's why he gets fatigued because nobody else scores enough or who is good enough to play that lone strker role.

yes your right but ...... the team is/has not played well all season .....tbh he's more saying this in hope than in honesty ...... 5 wins ? we can't be sure of 1 win .......not in football can you take anything for granted

The team has been playing well recently imo.

Exactly, they just don't seem to want to do it for Benitez. The team and a lot of individuals need revitalising, I just cant see us turning the corner without some new faces, even torres has said that we need players who can make players fight for their places.
