Their next game is then Arsenal away - which is perfectly losable for anyone.

All the while, we have WHU at home who we beat, and the day after City lose at Arsenal, we scrape a win at Burnley.

Suddenly, we're level on points with them with 2 games to play (they have 3 to play).

They'll be feeling the tension by this stage, and then play at home to Villa, who could easily still be in the mix. The tension and pressure makes that a very hard game - which could result in a draw. The next day, we go into the Chelsea game at Anfield, massively boosted by the unexpected opportunity to go above City.

I'm not saying it'll happen, but the idea of it happening doesnt REALLY require any insane logic.
Roy of the Rovers stuff, but vaguely possible. Problem is though our own performances are ****e & we will lack FT for at least some of those games- & even the ones he makes, he wont be match sharp. (I actually think that has been the case for a lot od this season & therefore comparing his appearances with other teams' equivalents is misleading, but that is another debate...and one I dont wanna get into here...

    Craig. )
    3rd place. Worst champions ever.

It's a possible scenario but I fancy them to beat the scum especially if they are without a fully fit Rooney
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I thought that this year it all depends on who the referees wants to win.

FERNANDO Torres will head back to Spain today with fears growing at Liverpool that he could have played his last game for the club this season.
He attended yesterday’s Hillsborough Memorial Service at Anfield, which marked the 21st anniversary of the disaster, and will fly to Barcelona to see Dr Ramon Cugat over the knee injury that has cast a shadow over his season.
Tests have so far proved inconclusive and Liverpool’s optimism that Torres could, at least, spearhead the bid to reach the Europa League final, is beginning to ebb away.
Torres had an operation after tearing the cartilage in his right knee in January and it is the same joint that is causing him discomfort.

We've got a world class striker but he can hardly play.

We've got no money to buy a more reliable replacement.

Quite simple really, fit to play for Liverpool = going to the world cup with Spain, not fit for Liverpool = missing the world cup
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

TBF to the lad, I'm sure he would like to play against his old side but playing at the WC would probably rate higher for him. We'll just have to go out and prove that we can do it without him

So there's a chance he won't play again this season. Brilliant

Hardly surprising ......considering the one thing he needs is rest ........

When we signed him .......he became injury prone here.......
Need to get this sorted now or forever have Torres out with injuries........might be best to get him back from the world cup and then give him more time of to recover fully
