We just need him fit for May 12th.
I'm not sure we would, we are absolute garbage without him, and they are just starting to find some form. Without him it will be a close one I think.

Well, I didn't agree with him back then (altho I didn't know the extent of Torres' injuries to be fair), but 4th is gone now, so we might as well maximise his input into the only thing left to us.

Bet he's fine for internationals tho and picks up an injury there ffs.
      3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I rate Ngog. I still think we can finish the season strong with him upfront. Just need a few others to step up to the plate and get on the scoresheet namely Babel, Maxi and Benayoun.

I'm still not 100% convinced of that, you know...

I wish I shared your optimism Craig. I really do but I think the fat lady has sung

I hate Manure with a passion, but we need their never say die attitude. Yes 4th is highly unlikely but we still have the best run in out the teams. All we can do is win all 4 and hope the others mess up and they all do have hard games and a fair few of them have to play each other
This city has two great football teams – Liverpool and Liverpool reserves

LFC - Torres = no chance IMO

Highly unlikely, i know. City need 7 points from their last 5 games.

However, is it really impossible that they could lose to Man Utd at Eastlands, lose to Arsenal at Emirates, draw with Villa and draw with Spurs?

If you take each of those games individually, you wouldnt say each above outcome is radical. Then their last game is away at relegation-threatened West Ham, who are coming into a bit of form.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that they may only take something like 3, 4 or 5 points from those games.

                        Still possible, unlikley...but possible.

But you are also assuming that we will take maximum points from our last 4 matches I take it? Far from a certainty that IMO.

Well, yes of course we have to win them all and yes, the notion that 4th is still a possibility is based on the assumption that we take 12 points.

I admire your optimism. and what an end of season this would be if we have confirmation that the club will be sold within 6 months and we nick the last CL spot.

I dont however think that villa will pose any real problem for them and I also believe spurs will be the traditional chokers that they normally are. Both of these clubs are likely to be out of the race for 4th by the time their games with city come round and I think West Ham will be safe so I expect City to actually beat them all and take all 9 points there alone. I think the only way West Ham will win is if City are already 4th and WH need the win to stay up.

City are also a team that drastically raise their game for the big matches. So Them losing to both scum and Arsenal isnt that realistic IMHO. Possible but equally possibly is City taking 6 points.

They'll want to smash UTD at home. Its a cup final where they can kick their city rivals when they're down AND strengthen their grip on 4th.

I reckon Arsenal away is the likeliest of games for them to lose points but, as with utd, this is like a cup final for them to get 4th. Win that and they're 1 point off.

I basically wouldnt be surprised if city actually won their next 3 and then eased off once 4th is in the bag. 2 cup finals then they can let up.

Well sure it's not something you'd put your house on But equally, i wouldnt put my house on them doing it either - picture this scenario, they lose at home to United on Saturday which isnt something you'd regard as ridiculous or radical. Their next game is then Arsenal away - which is perfectly losable for anyone.

All the while, we have WHU at home who we beat, and the day after City lose at Arsenal, we scrape a win at Burnley.

Suddenly, we're level on points with them with 2 games to play (they have 3 to play).

They'll be feeling the tension by this stage, and then play at home to Villa, who could easily still be in the mix. The tension and pressure makes that a very hard game - which could result in a draw. The next day, we go into the Chelsea game at Anfield, massively boosted by the unexpected opportunity to go above City.

I'm not saying it'll happen, but the idea of it happening doesnt REALLY require any insane logic.
