We have a system which suits a player who is at the peak of his fitness for 25% of the season. We can't compete in the premiership without a plan B. I would be gutted to lose Torres, but if we're less reliant on one player then that has to be positive. I'm sure if we had two decent strikers and a good attacking midfielder as a replacement for Torres then our results would improve. We wouldn't have the best striker in the world, but we'd finish in a better position.Originally posted by Reece View PostI'm not sure I'd ever class having to sell your best player, who is a genuine world class striker, a "positive". However I kind of agree with the rest of your points. This doesn't mean that I want it to happen mind, ideally we'll get something sorted with the ownership which means that we don't even have to consider this kind of sacrifice. But I won't hold my breath on that one.

All this fecking talk about fecking tiredness, protecting players, being careful, not fit, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc fecking etc will be in the back of everyones head and have a negative effect on players. Anyone who has read any psychology will know that. Whatever happened to "It's not your knee, it's Liverpool FC's knee", or whatever the quote was. We need to stop all this fecking negative thinking, and focus on what we are good at, and that we CAN play three games in 8 days. Others do it, why not we?

I work 12 hour shifts, manual work, heavy lifting, running up and down steep steps, 2 days, 2 nights which fecks up your sleep and then at the end of the shift I run back home for 30 minutes with a rucksack on my back that weighs a couple of stone.
I obviously know I'm not competing in the premiership, but I'm still exercising to my maximum. They train a couple of hours a day and play 90 minutes twice in a week. Big deal.Play Ball!!!!!!!

Must be something he feels worse now and then, comes and go's in different degrees of pain maybe, hopefully he'll have a couple of games left in him..but i doubt we'll risk him..and he must be thinking of the world cup too.Originally posted by Bender View PostRumour from another site is that Torres is out for the seasonLast edited by Vermilion; 12-04-10, 06:47 PM.
