No it is not, but not but it is all far more complex than simple boiling it down to Rafa.Originally posted by kev776 View PostYou may be right, but overall it is down to Rafa. 18 goals away from home is NOT title challenging tactics.
Especially, I don't think we could have planned for how bad Gerrard has been this season.Last edited by Mattshark; 02-05-10, 04:38 PM.

Be civil will you? If you can't argue without insults just piss off.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View Post5 seasons out of 6 would suggest he does set up defensively. In fact we were ****ing negative most of last season too but managed to score with the few opportunies we created. It was only from Feb till May that the shackles came off. Shove your top scorers bollocks up your arse, my eyes don't lie and they saw **** match after **** match. Some of last years performances were woeful. On occassions we hit the goals trail like against Villa and this topped up the goals scored. Yet when it mattered most, the games at home to the likes of Fulham we were found badly wanting because we create so few clear cut openings. How many tap ins have we scored since Rafa has been here? Very few.
New Owners, New Manager, New Government and same players please.
We played the better football and were the highest scorers in the league last season independent of the fact that we played '****' in some matches. The old Liverpool teams would do that, play **** and win games. That's a quality.
This season hasn't been good enough. Fortunately you are not the one who will be making decisions as to who will manager or not next year, thank **** for that.

are you serious??Originally posted by PeteBest View PostYes it was but there have been mitigating circumstances, injuries and players playing well below par.
Other teams have the same problems, but they adapt and overcome, we dont, we stick to the same old ideas. Neverton have had half of their team out injured but have still out scored us.
It is the tactics, not the players. Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

It was 0-0 mate, we played poorly. However, I don't believe we went out just not to lose, we just played poorly imo.Originally posted by PeteBest View PostWe nearly won that match if I can remember correctly, conceded at the last minute. I don't think Torres even played.

So are goals more important than points - last time I looked Everton had fewer points?Originally posted by kev776 View Postare you serious??

So is it just this seasons tactics, or last seasons when we scored plenty ?Originally posted by kev776 View Postare you serious??

Can't agree there, we played the same tactics last season and had a fantastic away record.Originally posted by kev776 View Postare you serious??

We were in a no win situation really, it was blatantly obvious that the players where still shattered from the 120 minutes against Atletico, if we had played a weakened (fresher) team we would have been slated for "throwing" the game. However we played our strongest, or what Rafa believed to be our strongest, available eleven. This meant we where chasing shadows all game, sloppy passing and no real energy.
They could have had 2 penalties, the second claim was stonewall.
This almost ends our miserable season, I'm just looking froward to the next campaign now, with the prospects of new management or whatever.
