Even for someone with £12bn, £300m is a huge sum of money there's very little chance of anyone willing to write off that type of money. Just wouldn't happen.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostThis is the point i was making in the other thread, about these middle-eastern groups allegedly fronted by Liverpool 'fans' who were interested in buying the club.
If you have £12billion and you're a genuine fan, why would you baulk at the idea of overpaying by £300m for the club?
I'd pay it, if i had it and the same should apply to any real fan.
And perhaps one of the reasons you aren't a multi-billionaire is the fact that you'd happily burn £300m!James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

It's about the greater good. Even if it means giving the parasites more profit, if it's gonna save the club, then i'd do it. Every single day of the week.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostBut to Hicks and his pal ? that would be some bitter pill to swallow...i'd want to make absolutely certain i'd exhausted every other avenue before giving in to their demands and paying what imo amounts to a ransom for LFC'S future best interests.
I would at the very least want to hear the sas teams plans for taking them both out before i paid them a penny.

If you had £12b (that's 12 THOUSAND million), would you not overpay by £300m?Originally posted by Rich View PostEven for someone with £12bn, £300m is a huge sum of money there's very little chance of anyone willing to write off that type of money. Just wouldn't happen.

It's a 40th of your overall wealth. Would you not overpay by one 40th of your wealth, to save the club?

Do you not think I know what £12bn means in millions?Originally posted by Craig_H View PostIf you had £12b (that's 12 THOUSAND million), would you not overpay by £300m?

£300m is an amount of money you can barely comprehend its that big, so as I say to simply write it off just wouldn't happen.
Most people with vast wealth are good with money, agreeing to overpay for something by £300m shows that you aren't good with money, in fact you're the exact opposite.

You didnt answer my question though. If it was you, with £12b of wealth, would you overpay by £300m to rescue LFC?Originally posted by Rich View PostDo you not think I know what £12bn means in millions?

Even an obscene amount like £300m is chicken feed compared to £12b. They'd probably barely notice the difference.

Ok, if I had a personal wealth of £12bn I wouldn't overpay to buy the club.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostYou didnt answer my question though. If it was you, with £12b of wealth, would you overpay by £300m to rescue LFC?

If I had my fan's hat on you could say that that £300m I'm giving away to H&G could be the best part of 10 years of transfer funds. Or almost the cost of a new stadium. Or used to knock a tenner off the price of tickets for years and years. Or used for a million and one other important things.
It is a totally illogical option to overpay by that amount, even from a "real" fan's viewpoint.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

Fair enough. I personally would do it, to end this nightmare. I assumed the majority of others would also do the same, if they had £12b. Clearly not.Originally posted by Rich View PostOk, if I had a personal wealth of £12bn I wouldn't overpay to buy the club.

By the way, re your 10 years transfer funds - if i had £12b and bought LFC, i'd be putting forward a lot more than £30m per year for a transfer budget

I reckon £30m a year net would keep pretty much any manager in the game very happy, so there!Originally posted by Craig_H View PostFair enough. I personally would do it, to end this nightmare. I assumed the majority of others would also do the same, if they had £12b. Clearly not.
