I think under these exceptional circumstances the club captain should make a statement to show some respect for the progress Liverpool have made under Benitez. We had a bad season due to injuries and a lack of form, we have made significant progress throughout the whole club under Rafa's guidance.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostIn fairness to Gerrard, he has already said he will not be commenting on anything to do with Liverpool or his own future until after the world cup. So his silence should come as no suprise.

Ok, well never mind that.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostI'm not moving the goalposts, but Capello comes across as a guy who lays down the law and has probaby/possibly advised his squad to shut the **** up with regard to gossip and hearsay.
I just think its cunt**** to have a go at gerrard for not commenting without knowing why. I'd like nothing better than him to come out and say 'I'm delighted Now **** Off We've got a World Cup to lose'
Can you help me find this bloke in Pike's Basin???

I see little evidence for this. Only time will tell whether any of the 2000 youngsters will make it.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostI think under these exceptional circumstances the club captain should make a statement to show some respect for the progress Liverpool have made under Benitez. I'm not arguing with you in this thread. Rafa has tackled all aspects of the club and has improved the setup immeasurably. It was a massive undertaking and there is no doubt that the future is brighter now than it was under Houllier.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostI see little evidence for this. We haven't really made significant progress under Rafa though have we? A massive win in Istanbbul, a great day in Cardiff and a nearly moment in Athens. But he took over a side that came 4th in the league, he leaves a side that came 7th in the league. Ged and Rafa both failed to get beyond the group stages of the Champions League in their final year at the club. Hardly progress is it?Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostI think under these exceptional circumstances the club captain should make a statement to show some respect for the progress Liverpool have made under Benitez. I will say that his lack of progress is more down to the Yanks than him, but regardless of the blame, we really haven't made great progress.Forwards.......

Sorry to pick at your posts mate, but the Future is not brighter now than it was under Houllier, though again, that is down to the Yanks more than anything.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostI'm not arguing with you in this thread. Throughout the club, yes we have. The scouting system and the academy etc were a joke until recently. We can be more optimistic now with regard to younger players coming through and either becoming future players for us or being sold on for profit. Rafa made mistakes there is no doubt, but he wanted to improve everything at the club and he made massive strides in doing so.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostWe haven't really made significant progress under Rafa though have we?
