This place is even more of a mess than yesterday. It's polarised. Post after post of Rafa had no money and was faultless/Rafa achieved nothing nonsense. Have you people got nothing better to do with your lunch time on the lovely day? Go out, walk round looking at all the pretty ladies in the summer dresses or something. Seriously, is repeating old arguments again and again the best you can think of?Last edited by Kenneth; 04-06-10, 01:02 PM.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Its a nice theory. I personally think Rafa can win a league with a reasonably transfer kitty (he seemed to do okay at Valencia) but we'll never know now.Originally posted by oldschool View Postif Rafa can only win the league if he has a huge transfer kitty than he isn't the manager for us
So what we're looking for is some sort of managerial genius who can with the league with minimal funds, when competing with other clubs either far ahead or spending heavily. I'm struggling here, any suggestions?

Your the thick one, besides last season Rafa has never had to sell to buy, he has always being given more money, he may have had to sell to buy a certain type player, but in most cases it didn't worth out anyway.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostYou are thick aren't you. Pathetic over simplification. Not only have we not had Chelsea's budget, we have not had United's, Arsenal's, Tottenham's, Villa's and City's. If you don't think that is a major factor then you are even thicker than I thought. A top of that, we have had to sell to buy, meaning that while we have a good first eleven, when haven't been able to bring in squad players. So, yes, it is ridiculous to expect us to win the league with those constraints. Muppet
It is also nice to see that you are pathetic and scabby enough to put words into my mouth regarding "Chelsea type money", that is low and cheap and shows exactly what type of person you are.
All you are saying is Rafa cant win without getting an inflated budget, lets look past the fact that Rafa had a better starting squad than City and Villa.

You know what Craig there has been a marked change in your stance post RafaOriginally posted by Craig_H View PostNo, i think that when you have a very limited budget and various gaps to fill, you have to make the money stretch and obviously like all signings, your buys will be gambles.
You havent told me which brilliant players we should've got for £11m and £10m instead of those we did sign.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

FFS I am sure clubs like Everton would kill for our so called minimal funds. It may not be great, but all I remember hearing from Rafa is I need more money, FFS if that is the only way he can win, than he won't get the job done, so he may as well go. When he had decent money to spend, even if he had to save up for it, he f'ed it up regardless in a lot of cases anyway.Originally posted by elrichio86 View PostIts a nice theory. Starting team, not squad, and you are contradicting your self there.Originally posted by oldschool View PostYour the thick one, besides last season Rafa has never had to sell to buy, he has always being given more money, he may have had to sell to buy a certain type player, but in most cases it didn't worth out anyway.

And I am not saying Rafa can only win with a inflated budget. That is misrepresentation and a disgustingly low tactic used by people who don't actually have a real argument.

Our budget averages about 6m per transfer window.
