Or you had to be regarded as an outstanding prospect (but the FA had to agree with that assessment).

This criteria makes it difficult to sign you players as they are unlikely to have been playing international football for two years. And the chances are anyone who has been playing international football for Brazil or Argentina enough to qualify, probably is already playing in Europe
Yeah the 75% figure does ring a bell and I remember the trouble we had with Gonzales and the lanky winger. The lanky winger was definitely not worth the trouble and we should never had gone for him in the first place (he's in Greece now, I think). I'm surprised they've given Lucas a work permit being 'unskilled' n all

Does anyone remember Rafa going on one saying how crazy the FA must be to not see Gonzales as an outstanding prospect?

Turns out the FA knew more about footy than Rafa thought as Gonzo was out the door after a year

To be fair, he has looked good everywhere else he has been, it just didn't work out with us.

I think he was an outstanding prospect but the lad blew it. His insatiable appetite for women and booze put paid to his vast potential.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

In all honesty he is ok. He's not a world class operator nor is he someone that will 'get the fans to the edge of their seats' like rick parry once proclaimed.

He is just a mediocre winger who can score the odd world class goal.

Where things went tits up with us was that he sustained a really serious injury a season before he was supposed to join us. I think it might have been his cruciate ligament and when he joined us he just didnt look fit and for someone who was supposed to be a speed merchant he didnt look that quick either.

It just got worse from there but the lad had some decent potential but as shaggy says he had an eye for the women.
