Obviously we need to aim higher, but there have been massive disruptions at the club for numerous reasons, so at the moment whilst we rebuild to get us back to where we belong (if there is such a place), we should take what we can in terms of silverware. In my opinion of course.
I dont think anyone's saying they dont WANT to win the Europa Cup, but my point of view is that advancing to the latter stages will have a detrimental effect on our league campaign, which is of crucial importance.

I think the Europa League hampered our attempts to get into the top four last season and will do the same for 2010-2011, if we progress through to the group stages (and beyond).

We simply must do all we can to get into the top four again and for me, if the Europa Cup hinders that challenge (and it will, IMO) then it can be ****ed right off.

Since it's turned into a random group stage it's become a bit of joke - i may be wrong as i didn't pay it much attention but i'm sure one year, recently, the group stages were bizarre and completley random to follow - ie, i'm sure there were some groups with more teams than other groups, and you didn't play each team twice, it was some crazy round robin, so you would play each team once, either home or away....i'm sure there was an issue with someone like celtic, getting drawn away to ac milan which was a vital game in the group, and then at home they had someone ****.
there were 5 teams in each group and every team played 2 away and 2 home matches

that was it - what kind of competition is that.....i'm sure it was celtic, they had ac milan away, and the other tough game was away, where ac milans draw meant on paper the two hardest teams in their group where home ties, and the two easiest were - thats when the uefa cup game devalued.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

yeah it's a bit understandable, it was hibs' first competative game of the season, and my lot have played like 5 or 6.

i know it's not over but still, great result and the two goals from iličić were simply brilliant

We never shunned the league cup when we were winning the league each year. Trophies are what we're about and the Europa League is better than no European football.
