LFC pulled the plug on the deal. The club wants to use him more for the reserves. His contract ends in the summer and he`s probably not going to sign a new one as he wants to play.
It`s much the same case as with Thomas Ince, his loan with Notts County will not be continued unless he signs a new deal with LFC, something he`s reluctant to do.

Why didn't we extend Ince's loan spell? Seemed like a no brainer, he was getting good experience there.

Because he wasn't signing a new contract I guess.

No doubt it’s thanks to Twitter that I’ve warmed to him now, but if he can’t learn anything from Kenny then there is clearly no place in our side for him. He seems happy at the club though and his recent twittering indicates that he really cares, so although he’s never likely to be the world class talent that we took a chance on signing, with a bit of work he could still be a useful player to have, especially with Kuyt and Maxi getting on in years. It’s amusing to look back now but I remember when (or just before he signed) he was compared to Henry in an interview and he said he felt he was more like Bergkamp.

In terms of the bench, we also have Cole to come back in who would obviously be ahead in the pecking order so it’s a tough call for Kenny
I'm not sure Cole has done anything to suggest he should be ahead of anyone since he has been here. Players like Pacheco and Babel (and even Suso potentially) should be on at least a level playing field with him IMO.

Seems Ecclestone is off to Charlton on loan.

Cheers. Make sense I guess, give him so playing time in the reserves and he may sign a new contract.

That's a lot easier when you're not the one paying him about £100k a week.

It wasn't a great stream against Blackburn, but I thought Cole did ok from what I could make out. Fingers crossed he builds on that and his gaol against Bolton.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I don't think even Kenny can afford to be paying him that much out of his own pockets

I'm willing to be proved wrong but I genuinely think that we have more or less flushed the money we have invested in Joe. He's another brainless player in a squad where that was the last thing we needed. He's got a lot of talent but the injuries he has had seem to have had an impact.

If you check my posts from when we signed him, I also had my reservations. My actually words were that I wouldn’t get excited until he proved he was over his injury problems.

Thanks to Kenny though, everyone has a clean slate and I have a new found optimism for almost all our players.

Liverpool have today confirmed that teenager Jason Banton has joined the Academy until the end of the season.

The former Arsenal and Blackburn winger was on trial at the club and was an unused substitute in the Reserves' 2-1 success over Sunderland earlier this week.

Academy director Frank McParland told Liverpoolfc.tv: "Jason has been training with us here at the Academy for the past three to four weeks.

"He's a talented winger who we feel can be a very good player for us.

"It didn't work out for him at Blackburn so we have stepped in and have signed him at least until the end of the season. It's up to him now to show that he has what it takes to wear the red shirt."

Banton, 18, played in the same youth team as Arsenal starlet Jack Wilshere.

The youth team is currently playing Bolton and it's 1-1, Morgon got our goal.

                            No Suso in the squad

I thought Suso didn't normally play for the youths anyway. Just in the cup this year.

That may or may not be true

                                But yeah it is true.
