New Boys In Line For Full Debuts
Posted on: Fri 18 Feb 2011

New loan recruits Daniel Ayala and Jamie Ward are in line to make their Derby County debuts from the start at Scunthorpe United tomorrow.

Ayala joined Derby last Friday until the end of the season from Liverpool and he came off the bench for the closing minutes of the Rams' home defeat to Leicester City a day later.

He impressed in a 45-minute run-out against Glapwell in the Derbyshire Senior Cup in midweek and manager Nigel Clough has hinted Ayala could be handed a start alongside Shaun Barker in central defence.

"Daniel is in with a shout of starting," Clough told Rams Player.

"He did well at Glapwell and if he does start it will give us the option to move Miles Addison further forwards into midfield.

"If we do that, we think it will give us a bit more solidity.

"The conditions might come into our thinking too, as their pitch has come in for some criticism this week."

Ward teamed up with Derby on Wednesday until the end of the season from Sheffield United, and he could be handed a start up front against the Iron.

"Jamie Ward is in our thinking as well and he could well start," said Clough.

"With Jamie and Danny coming in, it has given everyone a lift to see some fresh faces around the place."

Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Sterling has scored 7 goals in 5 days. Amazing.

RT @LFCTV: Full-time. Reds U18s beat Stoke U18s by a 4-1 scoreline. Two for Sterling, one for Morgan and a wonderstrike from Coady. (Paul H) #fb

I'm also really looking forward to see some more of Coady, so far I've been very impressed with him every time I've seen him play, and he probably didn't get the England & LFC captaincy just because he had the balls to wear that purple shiny jacket.
We seem to have a nice bunch of talents on our hands right now; Kelly, Wilson, Pacheco, Ayala, Shelvey, Coady, Suso, Sterling, Robinson, Flanagan... Hopefully at least a few of them turn out good.

                Also this:
                Toffees eye Eccleston.

Everton are believed to be one of the clubs showing an interest in Liverpool-owned forward Nathan Eccleston following his scintillating performances on loan at Charlton. A goal against Hartlepool followed a Man of the Match display against Peterborough and it is quite clear that the 20-year-old is benefiting from regular first-team football.

The striker is thought to be well down the pecking order at Anfield and his performances are attracting interest from clubs that may be more interested in a permanent move. Everton and Hull City are thought to be particularly keen, liverpoolfc.tv reports.
Didn't know he was doing so well there, and being only twenty years old, perhaps he still has a shot with us?

Yeah I'm pleased to see Ecclestone's doing well also. The experience may see him dethrone Ngog when he returns.

Sounds like Dave had a great time in MK.

Liverpool winger David Amoo has returned to Anfield after a loan spell with MK Dons.

The former Millwall starlet was an unused substitute for Karl Robinson's side in last night's goalless draw with Oldham Athletic in League One.

Liverpool's No.46 made three substitute appearances for MK Dons during his loan spell.

In our case once MK go black, he comes back.
